Hive or centralized social media platforms

Hello friends, I trust the week is going as planned. I am writing in response to the #iucontest for this week.

Social media has become part of many people's everyday lives. It is very useful to us as we are able to do many things on it, like connecting, sharing ideas, interacting with friends, and expressing ourselves. However, not all social media platforms operate the same.

The hive platform is also a social platform but built on blockchain technology. It is quite different from social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and X.

We all know the owners of these centralized platforms. Their company owns and controls everything. They make all the rules for users and decide what we can or can not post. Our contents there are not completely owned by us. They can remove your posts or even suspend your account in one swoop. Through your content they make money by adding adverts to the timeliness often without giving us any rewards.

Hive is a decentralized platform that does none of that. It is not owned by one person or company. It works with a block supported by many users, which makes our posts secure. Though there are rules of posts and engagement, our accounts can not be suspended or deleted unfairly. We post original contents owned by us and pleasing to read by others.

Another interesting thing about hive is that we are rewarded for our activities. We can earn hive tokens for creating and curating nice contents. This makes it easy for a lot of people on this platform to benefit from the effort they put in to create valuable content.

Hive for now has a smaller user base and growing by the day so our contents may not be seen by thousands or millions of people but we are sure of owning our original content and there's a level playing ground for everyone. We put in effort and earn rewards based on that.

Hive will continue to gain traction, more creators will get on board the platform and hive token usage will increase. This will lead to more shared value and a stronger ecosystem. We will all be here to witness and enjoy it

So, centralized platforms like Facebook and the rest have their own controllers while Hive gives user power. All our creative content truly belongs to us.

Hive is not owned by one person or company like centralised social media platforms. It works with a blockchain supported by many users and that is why our posts are secured. Thank you for this wonderful piece.

    You are right though

Partially true, my friend. It's true that on Hive, they can't delete your comments, say whatever you want, give your opinion on anything, and earn something for your participation.

Until the bots arrive, downvoting everything you post and taking away your earnings. Getting off that blacklist? Sometimes, but other times not, it's impossible because those responsible don't want to remove you and say goodbye to all your work (as is my case).
