Saludos querida comunidad, como les había contado en mi publicación anterior, me encargaron un pesebre de tamaño mediano, igual al que he realizado en navidades anteriores, sin embargo, al revisar mis patrones y fotos pasadas, sentí que podría hacer un nuevo patrón, pues lo mas bonito de este arte es saber que siempre puedo mejorar con el pasar del tiempo y la experiencia ☺️, así que decidí comenzar una nueva versión del pesebre esta vez con las figuras un poco mas grandes.

Greetings, dear community! As I mentioned in my previous post, I was commissioned to make a medium-sized nativity scene—just like the ones I’ve created for past Christmases. However, upon reviewing my patterns and old photos, I felt inspired to create a new pattern; after all, the beauty of this craft lies in knowing that I can always improve with time and experience ☺️. So, I decided to start a new version of the nativity scene, this time with slightly larger figures.

Proceso / Process

A diferencia de la versión mini, esta virgen la hice para que se sostenga directamente sin piernas que necesiten una base, para esto comencé con 8 puntos bajos, intercalando las hileras de aumentos hasta obtener un circulo de 8 hileras y 48 puntos bajos, continué recto por 12 hileras, hice 4 disminuciones por 4 hileras, luego recto por 10 hileras y en la siguiente uní los brazos, luego hice 8 disminuciones por hileras hasta obtener 24.

Unlike the mini version, I designed this Virgin figure to stand on its own without separate legs requiring a base; to achieve this, I started with 8 single crochet stitches and alternated increase rows until I had a circle spanning 8 rows and 48 stitches. I then worked straight for 12 rows, made 4 decreases over 4 rows, worked straight again for 10 rows—joining the arms in the next row—and finally worked 8 decreases per row until I was left with 24 stitches.

Para la cabeza tome las hebras de atrás e hice 6 disminuciones por 2 hileras , hice en cuello con 12 puntos bajos por 2 hileras, para la cabeza hice 6 aumentos por hileras, 42 puntos bajos por 13 hileras, coloque los ojos y el relleno e hice 6 disminuciones por hilera hasta cerrar. Para el cabello hice un currículo de 30 y solo hice 12 mechones de cabello de 30 cadenas y 30 puntos deslizado sobre estas.

For the head, I worked into the back loops and made 6 decreases over 2 rounds; I worked the neck with 12 single crochet stitches over 2 rounds; for the head, I made 6 increases in a round, worked 42 single crochet stitches over 13 rounds, inserted the eyes and stuffing, and then made 6 decreases per round until closed. For the hair, I made a starting chain of 30 and created 12 strands, each consisting of 30 chains with 30 slip stitches worked back along them.

Para el niño hice la cabeza con 6 puntos bajos en un anillo y 2 hileras de aumentos, 18 puntos bajos por 6 hileras y luego disminuciones hasta obtner 12, cambié a hilo blanco, hice aumentos hasta obtener 18, seguí recto por 9 hileras y luego disminuí para cerrar. El cabello lo hice casi igual a la cabeza pero con marrón y dos puntos mas de ancho para que encajar. El mando de la virgen lo hice con 40 cadenas de base y una adicional para hacer un aumento doble y continuar con 3 aumentos de ese lado por 6 hileras para obtener el ancho fe la cabeza y luego 11 sin aumentos.

For the boy, I made the head starting with 6 single crochet stitches in a ring, followed by 2 rows of increases; then 18 single crochet stitches for 6 rows, followed by decreases until reaching 12 stitches. I switched to white yarn, increased to 18 stitches, worked straight for 9 rows, and then decreased to close the piece. I made the hair almost the same way as the head but used brown yarn and made it two stitches wider so it would fit. For the Virgin’s mantle, I started with a foundation chain of 40 stitches plus one extra; I worked a double increase and continued with 3 increases on that side for 6 rows to match the width of the head, followed by 11 rows without increases.
