When I left Caracas, my hometown—a place that steals your heart—my greatest wish was to be able to return to live in my beloved homeland, the place where I was born. Do you feel the same way about the place where you were born?
Although I now live a little closer to it, I still find it difficult to visit, since it’s a two-hour drive; that’s why, whenever I have the chance to go, I don’t let it slip by, because I feel so good, happy, and fulfilled when I breathe its air again—that essence that spreads joy and enthusiasm—and when I see how its people live, all working hard and always giving their best, with love and respect.
This time, I was able to visit my beloved Caracas for a knowledge exhibition, as I’d already told you, and everything went very well; it was all so beautiful and spectacular. After enjoying the exhibition, it was time to head home, and suddenly, after a day of intense sunshine, it started to rain; this caused the “Wuaire” River to overflow considerably, and the water rushed powerfully down the avenues, flowing into the river with greater force than usual.
Many years ago, this river was very clean and its waters were crystal clear, but as the years went by, the city grew and wastewater began to be dumped into the river, so now it’s heavily polluted. This is one of the state’s unfulfilled promises—it had said it would clean up and restore the river so that even the city’s residents could bathe and collect water as they used to—but it turned out to be a failed attempt, just another scratch on the tiger’s back.
As the bus we were riding in moved forward, two yellow-and-blue macaws—which are abundant in this city—flew past at full speed. It was a breathtaking moment; they flew for a long time, as if they were saying goodbye to us and to the city. It was truly a magical moment, watching them fly past the bus window as we drove along the riverbank.
As always, I was there with my phone’s camera ready to capture those magical moments and share them here with you, my dear friends. And with that, I’ll say goodbye—see you soon.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and comments. Until next time.
