Jimmy Shergill as an obsessive cop and Avinash Tiwary as the prime suspect deliver strong performances as they gave out the best of their acting skills.
The movie started with an intriguing scene involving a diamond heist that keeps you on your toes with your popcorn as you will want to know where the investigation will finally lead to.
I love the fact that the presence of songs that would have taken too much time extended the film hours making it long and unnecessary time spent. Not much fluff like romance and dancing which typically defines a Bollywood movie.
Meet Jaswinder, a police cop who's instinct never fails as he investigates a diamond stolen from NISCO, one of the biggest gem stores in the city of Mumbai, at an exhibition that is supposed to show well designed jewelry made from the finest gem stone. Out of hundreds of people that were at the exhibition center Jaswinder was able to narrow his investigation to 3 prime suspects, two workers from the exhibition center and the 3rd person, a tech guy who only came to fix PCs in the center.
For 15 years Jaswinder chased the case but could not get to hold on the suspect as he met a very strong and resilient and patient criminal who wouldn't give up the diamond for any reason enduring the pains and hardship caused by Jaswinder all the set ups one thing that got me shocked was when I realized that even the wife Sikandar married came in as a spy just so he will be brought to book.
The twist, fourth and back is worth it.
Jaswinder only came to realization that the more he keeps on with this case he will end up losing things. As at then his job was already gone, his marriage also was gone as his wife could not bere the risk of losing her sanity over some case her husband refused to let go for this long.
What kind of patience will make a man hide a fortune worth millions of dollars even amidst hardship that requires little money to settle compared to what he has in hiding.
For each of the solitaire it's worth 50 crore Indian rupees which is worth equivalent of $5.21 million usd based on the exchange rate. The shock on Jaswinder's face when he heard the worth of each of those solitaire made him understand the gravity of the case.
The money involved did not move the suspect compromise to his goal of making sure the case is properly closed before he could make any move. While at it he tried to show how innocent he is by fighting through the difficulty set before him until he got to achieve his goal. The focus and determination is non exceptional.
If loyalty was a person then that person should be Priya The Nurse who helped accomplish the heist and how she also was able to manage for this long tells how loyal she is. How will someone be this loyal to the extent of keeping a multi-million dollar fortune for a whole 15 years and not be tempted to sell or just do something with it? We will have to ask the film director how he implanted such an almost impossible character in these people.
Both of them (Jaswinder and Sikandar) lost and both won.
Now we are left to decide the fate of both the cop and the suspect who later turned out to be the main criminal.
