Daily Blog: Spend the day with me Reflecting

Yellow and White Modern Daily Vlog YouTube Thumbnail.png

I started ESL Tutoring just this month (July). Honestly, in the first week, it was smooth but real exhausting because I am still adjusting. I have tons of bookings at that time when I was still starting. I am blown and panicking, I don’t know where to start. I was restless, my back hurts so bad, I got less than 8 hours of sleep.

I was asking myself if I made the right decision and if this is really what I wanted. Thankfully, I have my boyfriend to enlighten me that these are all just part of the adjusting process and it is not permanent. Indeed, I got used to it and eventually adjusted. I learned what works best for me, and reminded myself that I really don’t need to overwork myself because I’m still a student. I really don’t have a family to feed yet. And I’m just doing this for experience.

These are my personal photos. I own them. I am the photographer. Edited through canva.

  • So pretty! Hi Izzy. It's late, but welcome to Hive.

Ah. Another tutor. I remember crying during my first few months. It's so tiring because our brains are constantly working, and you're always expected to be at your best, even when you're going through the worst. It didn't get easier for me, i think. In fact, I felt like the workload increased, but y'know, I love money. Lol. That's the motivation. Soon, everything will make sense.

Drink more water, make sure to stretch in between classes, and please take breaks. Your health above anything else!

Enjoy here. I will see you around.

If you think that teaching is your calling, go for it and remain patient. Global learners need your passion and expertise. For as long as you're happy with that profession, there's no reason to quit. I'm indeed a graduate of Education and taught in a private school for four years. But I wasn't happy with teaching, so I left my job and shifted to a different career. I also tried being an ESL teacher after leaving Manila because I want to venture on a permanent work from home set-up. However, I left the job, too. Teaching isn't really my calling. 😅

Yeah... Be good to yourself. And your boyfriend is right... You're still adjusting. That's why it felt overwhelming and exhausting... Pero after a week or so, magagamay mo na din yan at maeenjoy. 🥰🫶🏻
