🍇Black Berries🍇

I haven't been able to enjoy blackberries since I was young. I've been living in Thailand🇹🇭 and Laos🇱🇦 where it's too hot for them to grow.🌞 I came to the United States to re-establish my credit, get IDs, bank accounts, and all that other grown-up stuff you miss out on when you've been gone a quarter-century. There were times when I was totally broke, but it didn't matter because it costs nothing to ride your bike around eating blackberries and plums (if you can find them.)

I picked up this bike from a friend and have been using it to get around town and delivery food with UberEats. I modified the front to be a magnetic phone holder so I could see the map and charge the phone while working and exploring the Emerald City. When I was riding around with a Trek in Laos🇱🇦, I had one of the best bikes in town, but here in Seattle, there are some truly amazing and expensive looking bicycles. There's a real theivin' culture out here in the streets so you have to take security seriously every second. I wish Americans were cool, like Korean🇰🇷 or Japanese🇯🇵 people where you can leave phones 📱 and bikes 🚲 laying around in public, but we ain't! We some theivin' ass foos' here in the states! 🇺🇸Happy 250th, USA🇺🇸 by the way.

Just cause they're the first to be ripe don't mean they'll be the best. I took this photo sometime in June when the berries were just getting ripe. Even though these were big and black, they were still pretty sour tasting.

I saw a lot of my friends get greedy when we went berry hunting and watched them put berries in their pockets or a bag only to see them mush into a warm messy stain. That's why I just eat my berries right away! Just make sure you blow off the dust! If you eat berries that are by the side of the road where a lot of exhaust blows on them will you become exhausted?

These guys may have a sour berry or two ready, but just wait a few weeks and these will be perfect.

Do you know how this works scientifically? Do bees come along and pollinate them like flowers?

Now that it's September, most of the berries I see look like this. What about you? Do they stay ripe longer where you live?

At the start of the summer, I went for a long walk and saw the map was taking me around like a game of Snake on an old Nokia so I had the bright idea of cutting through the woods. Everything worked out great until I slipped and fell down a hill into thorn bushes about seven feet tall. It took hours to get free and walk out of the hell of thorns and I looked like I got in a fight with a thousand cats, but I finally made it out. When you're stuck in the thorns, the only way out is to slowly and painfully walk and roll your way through. Well, thanks for reading about my summer. Winter is coming! ❄️ Be careful of all those thorns out there!
