It’s week 41 in the Vibes Web3 music competition, and it’s already almost coming to an end. Since I’ve never missed posting an entry before, I decided to quickly rehearse this and put it up. Honestly, I felt a bit tired, which is why I didn’t go for something that would stress me too much. I just picked a song that still felt okay.
The Vibes community has been doing great, and I’m so happy to be among the participants. This is actually an old song that I’ve known for a while, and singing it made me feel nostalgic. It brought back some old memories, so I just went with it.
I also changed a part of the lyrics to something I could connect with better. The original line said, “but those hips, she’s got me whipped, and it’s just too hard to resist.” I changed it to, “but her smile, it got me hooked, and it’s just too hard to resist.” I think that little tweak wasn’t too bad.
I spent a few hours recording and retaking, until I got to the point where I felt like I was sounding off. I got tired and just said to myself, “Let me post this already,” because I knew the more I tried, the worse it would sound to my ears. And since tomorrow is the cut-off time, I had to let it go instead of spending the whole day on one song.
Still, it’s always fun to submit an entry and catch up with other amazing singers. Sometimes we feel tired, and that’s normal—it’s okay. Our energy levels won’t always be the same, and that’s fine. I just hope you enjoy listening to my cover of “Strength of a Woman
