Tonight I can write the saddest lines. — Pablo Neruda

Cypress Shadow
You’re a haunting, drizzly day— And oppress me In the soft patter of rain.
My feelings
Dwindle
To a faint numbness—
Dark and forgotten
As a fireplace in summer.
I had almost forgotten What my arms Kept remembering—
You’re the wind In the night Down desolate alleys My soul takes.
The story of us Is touching, But exists Only in dreams…
Still, summer Lives inside me Rippling Under trees.
