I am having a hard time choosing a title for this blog post.
I want this to be simple, but still come across as a topic that is important for anyone on their journey.
We will work through the most, and see if we can get a title by the end of it :)
So today....Was pretty rough.
I had a bad day which isn't news in itself, because everyone has bad days. Financial issues are starting to get the best of me, and I've noticed how it's been bringing me down lately.
The issue is, when these things start to stress me out, it rubs off on my family. And my mom noticed it a lot when we met for lunch today.
Sometimes, you need some tough love and a wake up call and she gave me that this afternoon. I was spilling my thoughts out to her and confiding in here and she just looked at me and said...
"You aren't giving your problems to God, you are relying on yourself too much!"
Sometimes, we forget the good that God does for us when we are too focused on the world...And that was exactly the case for me today.
Money, job, bills, everything in the world. But then I got home and saw what God has provided for my family and I...
A roof over our head.
Food on the table.
A good school for my kids to attend.
Overall healthy.
I mean this is such a great exercise to do when you are feeling down and out. Make a list of everything God has blessed you with and you might be blown away!
I sat there at dinner and it was almost like God tapped me on the shoulder and said...See how blessed you are!
My wife, my kids....All together, in our own home and enjoying a fantastic summer BBQ dinner.
What am I ever complaining about?
And yeah, life happens....Things aren't always peachy but after I stopped feeling sorry for myself, I found some scripture to confirm what my mom was reminding me of earlier, and God was putting on my heart....

While I do tend to read the KJV daily, I think the NIV does a better job at the translation here....Be careful for nothing literally means....Do not be anxious about anything!
Amen to that!

The peace that passes all understanding! Let it RULE your heart. That's something I don't do and ignore the prompts God seems to give me daily about being thankful!

Is there any book better than Psalms when you are feeling 'blah'? This is just the perfect reminder that being grateful for everything God blesses us with should never be taken for granted!
So while the day started out rough, I was thankful that my mom and God snapped me out of the pity party. There's so much peace when you give God the praise and let Him fight the battles in your life.
I hope these verses and my short story is a blessing to others!
P.S. Oh btw.....I think I have a title for the post now ;)
