I know a certain Hive user who pumped out contents like crazy on a daily, so here's the thing.
I use to think they were some sort of Blockchain expert and had a lot of knowledge about crypto, they actually do, but it was impossible to pump out that much content on a daily without getting tired, and it took me a long time to realize that the fellow was ahead of time: they used AI to create a lot of content and a lot of people apparently never knew that what AI was.
They were probably some of the earliest AI users who took advantage of some of the first models to create content, and it took years for some people to know it was AI.
Now Hive has been against using AI to fully automating a creative process, and as a rule of thumb, everyone knows this. Now the system can be run using AI, there are lots of DHF proposals that are definitely going to be replaced by Claude in a year or two, so this is to say that Hive isn't against using AI to create, it's just against using it to abuse the system, and to be honest we saw how it was being used in the first few years of the earliest models.
Lots of people used it to abuse the system and just pumped out soulless contents that they didn't even bother to add any human touch to, making it (AI) their main creative tool instead of some sort of assistance.
AI is not the problem here....
we can collectively agree that it's one of man's most innovative inventions. It's futuristic and just takes away the bulk of reasoning or creative process, while allowing people to just do some little work of polishing or just refining the output.
However, people don't refine it, they just pass off the output as their own even though they know that it's not as perfect or good enough, and everyone can actually see this.
Human creators are fuming
On YouTube today, a random guy was asking YouTube to ban creators who integrated AI into their content creation process, including anyone who used it to refine their work. You'd basically see that calls like this is just jealousy and fear of competition.
In reality, I think as always fail to address the elephant in the room, and that's the fact that a lot of people are using AI unorthodoxly and that's the biggest problems we have.
A lot of people are looking for ways to abuse what AI can do, they're trying to tweak it to do horrible and heinous things, and find edges and loopholes that feels unfair and crazy, and this is actually a human problem and not an AI issue.
Don't blame the game, blame the player
It's just the same as saying a gun is evil even when it's a tool that can be wielded differently. I once talked about how scammers found loopholes in vitalik Buterin's smart contract, and used that to scam billions in dollars of people's crypto asset.
Humans abuses loopholes
I remembered getting robbed of funds I spend months working for through the same smart contract, a weakness that is supposed to be harmless, but somehow hackers and scammers found a loophole to use it to scam people.
AI has loopholes that's currentlyabuse-able and a lot of people are taking advantage of this to abuse it, and this is the case for that argument that's currently flying around.
If Hive allowed AI creation, we wouldn't have creators who just wants to type prompts, copy it and paste it, the temptation will always be there, especially when people became very lazy and complacent, then they'll easily choose abuse and this ultimately means that the platform will become spineless and look zombish.
In reality a lot of people have failed to come to this reality that combating abuse is how AI usage becomes useful, elses we might just continue having problems with futuristic Innovations.
I've seen abusers and people who abuse systems, these people do it so bad that you'll begin to wonder where they get the sense to become so greedy.
When we combat greed and abuse in people, that's probably when we'll begin to see the acceptable usage of unconventional human inventions, but we'll probably never get there, and this takes us back to ground zero.
