This microfiction story is for the prompt "so depressed". It reminds me of individuals who you don't know may be affected because there is no outward showing of distress. However, when someone is truly hurting, and you can see it, this may be a time to intervene and try to help someone in need. I base my story along those lines. Below is my story.
It wasn't as if they didn't know. Two gate attendants busied themselves and wouldn't address the situation.
"Just wait and see. I'll show them," a young man proclaimed, crying hysterically while talking incoherently.
The attendants failed to call security.
They allowed the young man to board.
Afterward, they faced accountability.

Sin embargo, cuando alguien está sufriendo de verdad y se nota, puede que sea el momento de intervenir e intentar ayudar a quien lo necesita. Mi relato se basa en esa idea. No es que no lo supieran. Dos empleados de la puerta de embarque se mantenían ocupados y no querían abordar la situación.
«Ya veréis. Les daré una lección», proclamó un joven, llorando histéricamente mientras hablaba de forma incoherente.
Los empleados no llamaron a seguridad.
Permitieron que el joven subiera al avión.
Después, tuvieron que rendir cuentas.
