This microfiction story is for the prompt "those jeans are cheap!". When young, I remember having to wear second-hand clothes. The jeans my parents could afford came from the thrift stores. Many were well worn and torn in places. I don't know about my siblings, but I was ashamed to wear them, especially to school. It signified that our family was "poor". I was absolutely stunned when wearing jeans that are torn became a style.

How times have changed to return to something that was a symbol of poverty. As with other commodities, I'm always astonished that younger generations find items and styles of the older generation was something fresh and new. I share a story along those lines. I hope you enjoy it. A ZAPFIC50 story is told in exactly 50 words. The challenge was created by @felt.buzz.

I based my 50-word story on Freewriter's Community Daily Writing Prompt: 20 October 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3262: those jeans are cheap!. If you'd like to join in from the daily prompts, visit @daily.prompt's Profile and view each day's freewrite prompt.

Below is my story.

Senior citizen Martha turned to Ann, whispering loudly, "those jeans are cheap! So tacky the way young girls dress these days. I can see her thighs through those holes."

Carolyn's head jerked around. The Gen Z stare silenced Martha.

She didn't have to, but responded, *"research clothing trends old buzzard.""

Si no te has informado bien, no hables del tema
