Yōjo Senki : TANYA VON DUGURECHAFF FANART

Hello again everyone in @theanimerealm ! The Second half of the year is here and I started drawing a bit early this month. I got a lot of inspiration lately, so I took advantage of it and draw a lot. I already have a WIP for my next artwork. 😆

This Anime is one of the recommendations my nephew told me to watch, so I gave it a try and it piqued my interest on the plot and also the crazy expressions of the protagonist. The first season of the anime was aired almost ten years ago and just got its new season this month which I'm excited about.

The Title of this anime is Saga of Tanya The Evil or Yōjo Senki and it is an Isekai genre with a little bit of magic. She was a salaryman, an atheist and got killed by a co-worker. A deity appeared before her and questioned its authority. As a punishment for her foolishness and to instill faith into her, she was reborn as an orphan in an era where the world is at war and got recruited because of her talent or power. And of course that power came from the deity and to access a powerful skill, she needs to pray to the deity which she really hates.

P R O C E S S

Here's the sketch. It took me a lot of time adjusting her head and the cap. I was surprised that the sketch isn't messy.😂

I applied a gradient background first so I can see if the base colors I placed on the character match the ambience.

I started painting the background and adjusted the overall hue of the character.

I rendered her uniform first. I used colors that complement a little bit with the base color.

I painted her hair and applied a gradient on her face so the fire on the background lights up her face.

Here, I painted her eyes and this was how I envisioned it at first. I also painted her rifle and added the strap.

I made some several revisions here before I called it's finished. I added some some fires/glows, embers around her, and clouds on the background. I also painted her hair again to closely match the sketch.

The eyes or the overall expression of her face felt something missing, so I repainted her eyes and her mouth to show her iconic maniacal expression.
