Popołudniowa eksploracja okolicy z aparatem. Po przejażdżce rowerowej z żoną wszedłem do domu tylko by zabrać aparat i wyjść bez konkretnego celu tam, gdzie mnie nogi poniosą. Nie muszę się wcale daleko ruszać, żeby znaleźć ciekawe tematy fotograficzne. Po kilku minutach spaceru miałem już co fotografować.

Taki właśnie urok mieszkania w Beskidach. Kilkaset metrów nad moim domem zaczynają się wznosić beskidzkie szczyty i wzgórza, które porasta las. Między domem a tym lasem roztaczają się działki rolne i pola uprawne. Jest tu też kilka mniejszych lub większych skupisk drzew, lub stoją one samotnie. A drzewa są jednym z elementów, które bardzo lubię umieszczać w kadrze.

Mniejsze czy większe, rozłożyste lub bardziej zbite. Wiosną najlepsze są te które rozkwitają intensywnie. Delikatne płatki tych kwiatów lśnią w popołudniowym słońcu. Światło przenika przez nie, podkreśla ich kontury, sprawia, że wyglądają jakby same świeciły.

Takie miejsca we własnej okolicy są bardzo ważne. Można je poznawać na co dzień. Uczyć się ich. Analizować, jak zmieniają się o różnych porach dnia. Kiedy światło jest najlepsze. Planować coraz lepsze ujęcia i z czasem robić lepsze zdjęcia. Każde z tych miejsc wygląda inaczej w różnych porach roku. To nieskończony proces zmian i nowych fotograficznych możliwości. Zgłębianie tych miejsc, fotografowanie ich na co dzień, analiza w terenie i później przy post-produkcji, to proces, który pozwala fotografowi uczyć się uważności i wrażliwości na najmniejsze szczegóły, które wpływają na finalny wygląd zdjęcia.

Ponownie zakochałem się w fotografowaniu z zakresem ogniskowych poniżej 20mm. To zupełnie inne spojrzenie na świat. Dynamika, szerszy kontekst i pespektywa. Mój Nikkor 14-24 mm ma jednak pewien problem. Dość kiepsko radzi sobie w pracy pod słońce. Flary często doszczętnie niszczą zdjęcie. A ja wprost uwielbiam fotografować pod światło słoneczne. I często akceptuje te flary i przymykam na nie oko.

Afternoon exploration with my camera. After a bike ride with my wife, I went home only to grab my camera and wander off aimlessly, wherever my feet took me. I don't have to go far to find interesting photography subjects. After a few minutes of walking, I had something to photograph.

That's the charm of living in the Beskid Mountains. A few hundred meters above my house, the Beskid peaks and hills begin to rise, covered in forest. Between the house and this forest stretch agricultural plots and fields. There are also several smaller and larger clusters of trees, some standing alone. And trees are one of the elements I love to include in my shots.

Smaller or larger, spreading or more compact. In spring, the best trees are those that bloom intensely. The delicate petals of these flowers shimmer in the afternoon sun. The light penetrates them, highlighting their contours, making them appear to glow.

Such places in your own neighborhood are incredibly important. You can explore them daily. Learn about them. Analyze how they change at different times of day, when the light is at its best. Plan increasingly better shots and, over time, take better photos. Each of these places looks different in different seasons. It's an endless process of change and new photographic possibilities. Exploring these places, photographing them daily, analyzing them in the field, and later in post-production, is a process that allows a photographer to learn attentiveness and sensitivity to the smallest details that influence the final look of a photo.

I've fallen in love again with shooting with focal lengths below 20mm. It's a completely different way of looking at the world. Dynamic range, broader context, and perspective. My Nikkor 14-24mm, however, has a problem. It performs quite poorly against the sun. Flares often completely ruin the image. And I absolutely love shooting against sunlight, and often accept these flares and turn a blind eye.
