We've been working hard behind the scenes on one of the biggest upgrades to our swap infrastructure.
Keychain Swap started with a simple idea: make swapping between HIVE, HBD, and Hive Engine tokens as easy as possible. As the ecosystem around it has grown, we've reached the point where we can take that idea much further. We're now adding more providers to our Aggregator and integrating their services directly into Keychain. With this, Swaps and Portfolio will not only offer services for Hive, HBD, and Hive Engine, but also for EVM tokens.
This will be delivered with the EVM update, so you will enjoy it with your brand-new Multichain favorite wallet. Right now, it is about to enter the testing phase to handle any small bugs.
The goal is straightforward: give users more routes to swap their assets and let the system find the best option for each pair.
More Providers, More Routes
We've been integrating several swap providers, bridges, Off/On-ramps and aggregators into the new system, including: Changelly, StealthEX, SimpleSwap, InstaSwap, and other providers currently being integrated. Each provider expands the possibilities, offering you more routes, more price comparisons, and more tokens available. Here is the current list of providers for both swap and ramps that we are currently working with:
Each provider brings something different to the table. Some have strong support for particular assets or networks. Others offer better liquidity for certain pairs, different fees, faster execution, or access to routes that wouldn't otherwise be available to Hive users. Let’s not overlook the Buy and Sell options, as we’ll eventually connect them to Hive tokens through our router system, but for now you will be able to purchase or sell your tokens using one of the off- and on-ramp services.
Instead of forcing every swap through a single provider, the Aggregator can compare the available routes and select the most suitable one for the requested pair. This is particularly important as we expand beyond Hive-native assets.
The Aggregator: Your Portfolio Becomes Your Gateway
The new Aggregator isn't going to live somewhere completely separate from your wallet. It will be accessible directly from your Portfolio, turning the place where you see all your assets into the starting point for managing them.
You'll be able to see your complete holdings across your Hive and EVM accounts, with the assets and activity associated with each account available in one place. But we don't want the portfolio to simply tell you what you own. We want it to become the place where you can actually do something with those assets.
From there, you'll be able to Buy, Sell, and Swap assets through the providers connected to our Aggregator. The system will use the available providers and routes to find the best available option for the pair you're looking for. There are significantly more options available for the received tokens. For instance, you can convert Hive to Bitcoin, but not the other way around. This is because, on the outgoing token side, we currently only support Hive, HBD, Hive Engine, and EVM.
Your transaction history will also be available from the same experience, giving you a unified view of your activity in our Aggregator.
The idea is to make the workflow incredibly simple:
Open Keychain → See your portfolio → Choose an asset → Decide what you want to do and do it.
Whether you're buying crypto, selling an asset, swapping between networks, or simply checking what you've been doing, the Aggregator brings those actions together around your portfolio. This is an important step toward our bigger vision for Keychain: not just a wallet that stores and signs transactions, but a complete gateway for interacting with your assets across Hive and the wider crypto ecosystem.
Aggregator will soon be launched in Beta for our testers, and we are working hard to start with more providers than what you are seeing here and increase over time.
One Swap, Multiple Ecosystems
The most interesting part of this work is that we're no longer thinking about swaps purely in terms of Hive and Hive Engine. With Multichain support, Keychain can work with assets across Hive, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Avalanche and other supported networks. This, of course, will increase over time.
That creates a much larger routing problem, but also a much more useful product. A user might want to move from HIVE to an EVM token. Another might want to swap USDC between networks. Someone else might want to move an asset from an external ecosystem into Hive.
Even get some fiat using the ramps since it is a possibility, but we know most will use the fiat to buy more tokens. At some point, you will be able to use a ramp to buy Hive with fiat even if that ramp doesn't support Hive. Our routing system will create the route to make that possible.
Remember: our Aggregator will be launched with our EVM update, but you can soon test it if you are one of our testers; if not, you can also become one.
If you made it here, we are happy to tell you something. This is a secret, but you can tell anyone:
The Aggregator will launch with 0% fee from our side, after which we'll strive to remain cheaper than other mainstream wallets.
