When I saw the writing suggestion, the first thing that came to my mind, as it usually does whenever I come across a writing suggestion about what I would do if I could spend 24 hours being invisible, was to go and rob a bank, get enough money, and solve my financial problems. Lol.
But that's not actually the case because even if I could walk freely into a bank, cart away with money without being seen or caught, stealing is not part of me. That's why I haven't had the mind to join the trendy internet scam, which has become a normal way of life in my part of the world and is no longer seen as a crime by society.
So, what would I do if I could be invisible for 24 hours?
Honestly, I don't have many pressing issues to attend to other than my financial problems, so I wouldn't make much use of the 24 hours of invisibility.
But there's really one thing I need to find out about in my area, which is more like a "pokenose." There is a woman in her 50s or 60s, with a daughter in her 30s or 40s. They've been hijacking everything in the compound where they erected a temporary structure that they use to run their daily business, and everything suggests that they're using voodoo to tie down everyone associated with the compound. Moreover, the woman (the mother) is currently dating, or let me say, dragging a man who has a family. The man behaves as if he's under the woman's control through voodoo because he basically comes around and spends his entire day in the woman's space, leaving his family behind.
What about the compound they're staying in? They've convinced, or let me say, "controlled," the landlord into evicting all the occupants, with court cases here and there. When this happened, the "gas gbos" (troubles) were intense. Everyone just knew and believed that the woman and her daughter weren't using mere words to control things; they were obviously using voodoo.
As for me, to an extent, I also believe they're not acting naturally in what they do, although I can't prove it. Even if I could, there's nothing I would want to do about it because I can't spoil their fun for them, as it's none of my business, even though I pity the married man who seems to be under the woman's control and is dating her.
If I were to be invisible for a day, I would love to walk into their closet and find out how they do their thing. Maybe, who knows, I might feel sorry for the married man who's been "tied down" and set him free to return to his family.
I know everything sounds like a Nollywood script, but that's just the situation on the ground. It's real, and I've said it.
Thanks for reading.
