The topic of one's purpose in life is one that is yet to be settled on one plain truth. Different people take the purpose of a man's life to mean different things. Sometimes, it appears that one group has settled on the main definition of one's purpose in life, while another group will come with a more concrete definition. I've read a lot and listened to a lot of sermons about this, and at one point, I just gave up on accepting what people have to say about a man's purpose in life. I just want to live and do what pleases my mind while walking on the right path of life. Don't get me wrong, the "right path" here does not mean the religious man's purpose; it means living without acting against humans or harming other humans and impacting lives positively.

I once listened to a sermon that said ambition is what someone is doing on earth to survive, such as doing any kind of work to earn a living, while vision is different from it, and that vision is the man's purpose in life. According to the sermon, it is possible for one to be living well and doing the kind of work he loves, impacting lives, yet still be far from his vision/purpose.

I won't lie, I don't like the way the religious world has painted this subject of man's vision. It appears to be like every one of them is digging too deep to elaborate what they're confused about. Am I too harsh? I guess you haven't heard different sermons on this subject.

What's man's purpose in life?

No lies, every one of us has the kind of life we are destined by God to live. That is man's purpose. But hey, if you can't "spiritually" identify your purpose in life, just live a simple but impactful life and leave the earth for others to continue when your time is due. There's no need to leave your high-paying job to follow a prophecy your prophet prophesied to you, only to start living beggarly just to please your purpose in life. In this situation, it could be that the man is being deceived.

A man can live a very simple, happy, and impactful life without being troubled by the idea of finding his purpose in life. As long as one is living happily and touching lives around him in any form at all, that is his purpose in life. That's the path God has patterned for him to follow. It doesn't mean that one must be a pastor, reverend, evangelist, or imam before one can touch lives. We can impact lives in any form.

So, man's purpose in life is not about chasing money and becoming rich?

Honestly, the world has taken a new path already, where it appears as though humans are just on earth to chase money until the end of their lives. Even though man needs money to survive on earth, one can also chase money and still be impactful while being considerate of other humans in life.

But why must we fast and pray for 40 days and nights to identify our purpose in life?

This is where I give bombastic side eyes to the religious world.
