I had a surprising experience with Grok Chat the other day.
I asked it to do something fairly involved - downloading and processing material. Instead of trying to handle everything itself, it handed the job over to a Grok Bot. The bot was the one set up to run on a computer with the right tools available, so that made sense for the heavier lifting.
Then when I came back later with follow-up tweaks, the main Grok Chat just picked it up and finished the rest itself. It already had access to a sandbox environment with the tools it needed for the editing, so it didn’t bother routing back through the bot again. It just did the work directly.
It was interesting watching the handoff happen mid-task. The system seemed to pick the path that made the most sense for the tools available at each stage, rather than sticking to one method the whole way through.
Grok Chat is really now a team member with Grok Bot(s).
