Delicacies straight from the sea—a special day with the family

English Version

Hello, dear Hive community. Today was a quiet day. Since we didn't have to work, I decided to go to the beach with my parents and wanted to do something different. The atmosphere, the warmth, and the moment all came together to let us enjoy this wonderful day. I really liked how everything turned out.

I don't know if you're familiar with this seafood delicacy—here we call them “chipi chipi.” I'm not sure if you know them by other names; if so, let me know in the comments section.

It was a pretty quiet day at the beach; there weren't many people around, which made it even more enjoyable.

To get this seafood delicacy, we simply dug holes in the sand—near the water’s edge or a little further out—and kept digging until we found them. They’re pretty easy to find, and there are plenty of them.

You might be wondering what to do with them afterward. Well, after we collect them, we put them in some seawater so they can get rid of the sand inside, and we let them sit there for a good while—all the while we keep enjoying the beach. When we get home, we rinse them several times, boil them, add scallions, garlic, chili peppers, a bunch of cilantro, a pinch of salt, and sometimes some vegetables. Believe me, this concentrated broth is absolutely delicious. We call it “consomé.” For me and my family, it’s a tradition to go to this beach, collect a few to make broth, and end the day with something like this.

Not only did we get quite a lot—a large amount, actually: two one-liter bottles plus a small bag—but we also had to set aside a portion for today and another for another day, so we’ll have more to eat and enjoy.

We enjoyed the day, and it was wonderful for everyone. Thank you for sticking with me until the end of this post and for all your support.
