Cooking Blog: Ginisang Upo For Our Lunch

ginisang upooo.gif

Hello, how are you? I just got home from the cemetery to visit my family members who have passed, and to my surprise, there weren't many people there today, but maybe tomorrow, or maybe they visited yesterday.

Kex lunch, we are supposed to eat kare-kare, but they didn't buy the meat needed to cook it, they asked me to cook the upo, and I did. It is like thirty minutes before lunch I started cooking but I manage to cook it before lunch LOL.

Ingredients I Used:

0.JPG

  • 1 tbsp. cooking oil
  • chicken meat
  • garlic
  • red onion
  • ginger
  • tomatoes
  • bagoong
  • all-in-one seasoning
  • half cup water
  • upo
  • green chilis

Let's Cook!

In a pan, I added about a tablespoon of cooking oil, and then I added the meat I chose- chicken this time because we do not have any meat left, just the chicken and then I cooked it until the texture turned crispy.

After that, I added garlic, red onion, and ginger, and then sautéed them until the fragrance came out.

Add the tomato next, and cook it until the texture turns into a mush.

Add a tablespoon of bagoong and let that bagoong seep into the meat and tomatoes and that way it will remove the smell of fishiness of it.

Add a half cup of water. I added water because it was too small to water the food.

Add the upo.

Mix everything until well combined and cook it for about 5-8 minutes or until the upo turns transparent.

I almost forgot to add the green chilis, so I am going to add them.

I like to add more flavor to it, so I added just a little bit of all-in-one seasoning.

This is what it looks like after.
