Holding On Through Recovery: A Gig Worker’s Reflection

Hello Hive Fam, most especially my ever-supportive Hive Friends all over the world and my co-Pinoy Hivers! 💖

It’s been several days since I last logged in, and the truth is, I’ve been sick and I’m still in the process of recovering. My doctor advised me to lessen my screen time, so I haven’t been as active here as I used to be. But today, I wanted to check in, read your inspiring posts, and share my current situation.

As a gig worker, life feels extra challenging; no work means no pay. All my available funds were used for my recovery, and honestly, I was running out of time and resources. Thankfully, my generous neighbor came to the rescue, giving me 5 kilos of rice and a can of luncheon meat. That simple act of kindness meant so much, and I’m truly grateful.

I won’t pretend it’s easy. There are moments when I don’t know how I’ll get through this. But I’m holding on to hope. I believe the right time will come when I can resume my gigs again. I really do love working from home compared to my previous onsite job, and I’m eager to return to the hustle once I’m well.

Thank you, Hive Fam, for your support, prayers, and encouragement. I know you’re rooting for me, and that keeps me strong. I look forward to the day I can be active here again, reading, upvoting, commenting, writing and creating content like before.

Stay safe always, and remember--- I love you, my Hive Fam! 💕

A good reminder that recovery takes time. Holding on and taking things one day at a time really matters. 🙏
