US Spot Ether ETFs Shed $320M in One Week of Net Outflows

Plus: Visa and Mastercard Open Stablecoin Funding, CryptoSlate Warns Leveraged Bitcoin Holders

Good Morning Lions,

Ether funds lost more money than Bitcoin funds last week, and BlackRock's product took most of the hit. I think the selling is aimed at ETH exposure specifically for now, since BTC funds held up better. BUT, frens, Visa and Mastercard building stablecoin rails in the same week tells me demand for onchain dollars keeps growing, no matter what ETF holders do this month.

Ether ETFs Shed $320M in Outflows

TL;DR: US spot Ether ETFs had about $320 million in net outflows in the week ending October 16, 2026, according to Crypto Briefing. That was more than the roughly $228 million that left spot Bitcoin ETFs over the same week, and BlackRock's ETHA accounted for most of the Ether fund redemptions.

CryptoSlate Warns Leveraged Bitcoin Holders

If ETHA keeps leading the redemptions next week while Bitcoin fund outflows shrink, the weakness really is ETH-specific. If both fund types turn positive together, last week was just broad de-risking and nothing more. 🦁 — Khal

Thanks for the daily summary. A note for the yield-watchers: Hive's HBD savings pays 10% APR today (chain, 17 Oct). If someone has LEO's current yield I'd happily put it next to that, and next to a LasseCash mint (about 230% to 340% a year in LASSECASH today, an estimate that falls as more people mint).

Update 18 Oct: a large new mint has since added to the share base, so the LasseCash estimate above has fallen sharply. The live figure is at lassecash.com/stats.

That's a solid weekly wrap-up. The Visa and Mastercard stablecoin move is huge for adoption, but yeah, from a privacy perspective, it’s pretty much the end of any on-chain anonymity for regular users on those rails. Also, Vitalik’s point on AI hardware is spot on. It really shows that as AI and finance merge into Web3, the real security battle isn't going to be just about the code anymore—it's going to be about who actually controls the hardware nodes and the physical infrastructure. Great breakdown as always, LEO team!
