Confession Post πŸ™‚

Hello everyone!!!

I hope so you all are doing well πŸ˜€

We all are living in different countries and our languages are different. But it's the blessing we know English which is international language and we can communicate with anyone in English. I think it's a blessing if you know English very well because you can easily communicate with people of different countries just like we communicate with people on Hive.

Our national language!!!

I belong to Pakistan and national language of Pakistan is urdu while there are many other languages according to region in Pakistan but national language is urdu like you can talk to anyone in urdu. If you're from Punjab and you've to communicate with someone from Sindh then you can use your national language which is urdu instead of choosing the Punjabi or sindhi.

My perfection in urdu!!!

Maybe it's a very surprising thing for you but Urdu seems very tough to me. A language has four skills that is writing, reading, speaking and listening. Believe it or not but I'm not so genius in my own national language. I don't know what the major cause behind it. But sometimes I can't understand the meaning of the word in urdu, sometimes i can't speak a word especially when it is included in BH, Ph sounds which are aspiration in English.

I have done my all studies from English school and from my day 1 of school till now, i always go go English school and maybe that's the reason I mostly don't understand the true meaning of words in urdu. Although i could read, write, listen and speak but still i make mistakes.

My own experience from last months!!!

As you know I've started my education again, and i was visiting different university and there was a course duration of which was only one year but that was in urdu and I make an excuse to principal that my urdu is week i can't understand and i can do a course in English.

Then i choose a course which is available in English with no urdu books. Then i make friends, you know when we go to a new place and make new friends, our friends or class fellow noticed things about us. It's been a month since i was going to university regularly. And my friends leave a comment on ke me that it doesn't matter you're talking in call, message or face 2 face but your urdu contains a lot of English words, like i take support of English words to complete sentence in urdu.

I live in Punjab Pakistan, obviously my mother language is Punjabi, i know Punjabi, but i can't write in Punjabi, i can listen but i can't speak the true or full Punjabi. In my Punjabi language I added some urdu or English words to complete my sentence. Sometimes I really think how poor I'm who isn't master in her own language. But i only take a sigh!!!

Final thoughts!!!

I raised up here in Pakistan and i feel difficulty to learn urdu especially the difficult words, but believe me urdu is lovely language but it's difficult when you use difficult vocabulary just like in English there is plenty of vocabulary. Urdu is also a vast language. You have to be good learner to learn our national language and an intelligent student lol.

That's all for today and it's my entry in this week hive learner contest in #hl-exclusive for the topic of #hl-w242e1.

Thank you for your time and support πŸ™

Guzarish from Satinder Sartaaj, if anyone can decode it, then he has some medium level Urdu skills. Moreover, everyone's Urdu gets humbled when it comes to "Mirza Ghalib," "Jaun Elia," "Mir Taqi Mir," and the list goes on and on. English is a lingua franca, as you have mentioned, so it is common to use it. Even pure Punjabi/Urdu speakers use it, such as word VIP, glass, lighter etc. The thing is, we have just mixed the accent. So nothing of serious nature. ANd yes, in simple words: ap ghulabi Urdu bolti h :)

Does your Punjabi accent interfere with English? Personally, it does a lot for me. Anyone can just smell it from miles away :)

we do have problem with our main language. Sanskrit is our main language, but over the year it has lost its charm. Nowadays only the priest know sanskrit. society is gradually degrading so does our culture and roots.
