A NEW FORM OF MOVING (DE/ENG/ESP) - A new post for the #monomad challenge

(ENG) For years, I drove across Zurich twice a day to and from work. Early in the morning, it was actually quite nice to drive for 20 minutes through the still almost empty streets. The journey home from work during the evening rush hour, however, became increasingly slow and tedious. The journey time on the same route doubled in the evenings. Then, when roadworks suddenly appeared on all the routes and so-called shortcuts, I’d had enough after a one-hour journey home. So I swapped the car for the train for my commute. And in doing so, I discovered a new, more relaxed way of getting to work. Even in the first week, I began to realise the various advantages of this new mode of transport. Both the journey there and the journey back are now stress-free. All I have to do is remember to buy my train ticket. I can get on and get off at my chosen destination without having to worry about traffic or hunting for a parking space. And I’ve started taking snapshots again. There are plenty of opportunities for that at railway stations. Here are a few of them. I took these photos with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at Zurich Oerlikon and Zurich Wetzikon stations.

Y he vuelto a tomar fotos espontáneas.

ARCHITECTURE IN A SQUARE (D/ENG/ESP)

LookUps and dizzying perspectives, with countless (viewing) angles and lines, of skyscrapers and modern architecture from small and large cities of Western Europe. On the constant search for the beautiful in the beast of contemporary gentrification and brutalism.

Great photos and I’ve done a similar thing in the past with various jobs, if you catch the right train, the one before it gets very busy, it can be very pleasant. Trains into London were often packed but the provincial towns tend to be easier and less frantic.

I’d love to buy a coffee table book on train stations of the world.

Do we have a community for that? I think @livinguktaiwan created one?
