Sarawak Literacy Festival

Good Morning to all my wonderful friends here. It's another wonderful Saturday. It's the day I go out and do some jogging to get some sweat out of my body.

Let's go visit the Sarawak Literature Festival.

Here in Miri, most parents and the locals prioritize learning. I believe that literacy is the key to success in our lives. This literacy festival at the moment is held at the local indoor stadium here in Miri for a few days.

The Stage

Some of the singers sing on the stage here.

A huge welcoming sign that welcomes everyone into the main area where you can visit the different booths that are available here that is related to literacy and boosting literacy here in Sarawak.

There is another stage here in the middle of the indoor stadium. Some of the local artist are going to perform here later in the day.

Popular bookstore

This is one of my favourite bookstores to visit here in Miri.

There are many other booths here.

This is the book exchange corner. You can bring a book to donate here, and if you want, take a book from here.

Some of the dolls that are made are catered to the local tribes and natives of Sarawak. A lot of the dolls even have their own customized costume. Is there any that you think looks pretty nice?

These are books that are all written by authors here in Sarawak. A lot of them are written in the local language. The language of Borneo is unique to the island of Borneo.

There is also a free voucher from Big Bad Wolf. I love buying books. Just presenting this voucher, I can get a discount.

Now this is one lively festival. Id attend one if ever we have this kind of Festival here in our small town. I'm sure a lot of people will also enjoy this especially those who loves books.

First, I really loved the venue, especially the area in front of the stage. It’s surrounded by trees, so it doesn’t feel hot even when you’re there for a while.

Second, I really liked the book exchange corner. Honestly, there are some books that I’m perfectly fine with reading just once, so I don’t necessarily feel the need to keep them. But there are also books that are so good that even after reading them over and over again, you still enjoy them. Those are definitely the kind of books you’d want to keep for good.
