Gold doesn't come only from Hollywood. This is the case of this precious little perl made in Denmark, called The guilty ("Den skyldige" in their native language), which can be classified as a "static film" since it's entirely filmed on the same location, basically a room.
Ok, i know, is not the first of its kind since there are movies like "Buried" that face almost the same argument and keep a similar plot but i think this is a bit different and magistrally filmed. Holm is a restless police officer that after some unknown event has been disqualified from his normal policeman tasks and has been moved to the emergency response team behind a desk and with an helmet hearphone.
The boredom of the starring is suddenly interrupted when he answer a phone call of a girl who has been kidnapped by a stranger man in a white van which simulate a phone call with her daughter while on the background we hear a male fainting voice which is driving and yelling torward the woman. As long as the movie proceed we start figure out what happened to the man and what the hell bring him in that dark office... I'll no go further to avoid spoilers but truste me if i say that is movie is an emotional adventure !
As a matter of fact, the movie strongly leverage the imagination and fantasy of the viewer, which may try to visualize the phone caller and the actions scenes which took place during the phone calls, and i bet at the end of the movie you start feeling the same as the police officer.
Anyway, the movie get 3 nominations for the EFA (European Film Awards) so this might further stimulate your willing to see this movie :)
As always, these are my 2 cents, write yours on comments below!
Enjoy !
