Greetings, creative friends in this community! I’m sending you my best wishes and a big hug from afar. I’m grateful for your support and for the opportunity to continue sharing here, and I wish you all the best. Today, I’d like to show you a lovely idea using some materials I had at home.

portarretrato.jpeg

On October 5, my partner and I celebrated our 8th anniversary, and I wanted to make a photo frame with some pictures of our time together. I reused various materials, such as the wooden base of the photo frame and heart-shaped figures. I edited the photos in Canva and printed them on photo paper. The process is simple, but the result is a lovely keepsake for us as a couple, made with love.

Paso a paso / Step by Step

The first step we'll take is to choose a piece of black cardstock to use; I found this one in a pad I had saved. I wanted it to be this color so it would contrast with the photos, which have white frames.

Now let’s place the picture frame on the cardstock and trace around it with a pencil to cut it out—it measures 14.5 cm x 19 cm. Glue it down with liquid silicone and let it dry thoroughly.

In the meantime, let’s cut out the photos. I edited them in Canva but forgot to take a screenshot—though the process is simple: just search for photo frames, and you’ll have several options to choose from. Select the one you like best; some are collage-style.

Next, we're going to cut out white and red hearts from some cards I've had lying around for a while, and we'll glue them around the empty spaces.

I’m going to make a bow out of twine to complement the decoration; I’ll attach a strip along the top and place the little bow in the center, then add a flower—also repurposed—to each corner. And that’s how I finished decorating my picture frame; it looks perfect in the living room.
