This is a feeling I can't deny ever feeling. I've felt it countless times, and I must say, it has the ability to mess with the brain and everything you can call yourself. Especially when you check your circle, look around, and it seems like you're the only one at a spot while every other person seems to have something to do and has moved forward in life.
In that kind of setting, you can't just help but question yourself and everything around you. It is just so easy to compare your journey to that of others, especially those you're in the same age bracket with, and looking at it, they seem to be far gone in life and have achieved a lot, while you're here with absolutely nothing to show for all of those years. You start asking if you've wasted time, if the things you do are actually worth it, or if maybe you should try a different thing.
But then, I've come to realize that the fact that I'm not where I want to be yet, or the fact that I'm not where my mates are, doesn't mean I'm a failure. I've also come to understand that life is different for every one of us; some have it very easy, while some don't. Life allows some to start from level 5, and then they keep going, while some have to start from zero and find their own way. That is just life.
So, our times are different, and I've stopped comparing myself and my journey to that of others. Now, I'm more focused on me; I start putting in more effort to be a better version of myself. Not as if I have everything figured out now or that I'm now doing so well, but I know I'm doing my best and have come a long way already. I've stopped measuring my progress with someone else's own; I just live my own life, making sure I'm moving forward even if slowly.
