Agesinkole is a Yoruba Nigerian movie, one that I can recommend to anyone. I'd say I'm not a fan of Nigerian movies, but even still, there are still a few producers and actors who are really doing their best and putting us as a country in the limelight, and Femi Adebayo, the producer of this movie, is one of them. A very great actor.
Agesinkole is also known as the king of thieves. He's a very powerful individual, one that brings terror, fear, and unrest to anywhere he goes. And when they say someone is very powerful, Agesinkole is very powerful; a lot of people, traditionalists and all, have been called to help subdue him, but no one seems to be powerful enough to.
Agesinkole is one of the few movies that will keep you glued to the screen as it revolves around very deep things, like betrayal, love, hurts, and a lot more. I had an interesting watch, and I didn't regret spending my time watching this movie.
Right from the onset, it's obvious Agesinkole won't be that easy of a person to subdue, you know; just like I said earlier, he's always feared wherever he goes, and he's always ready to kill, to destroy, to steal, and to cause chaos anywhere. He fears no one, including the king. Matter of fact, even the king fears him.
And I won't lie, Femi Adebayo killed it; I mean, he killed his role as Agesinkole, and I can't but commend those who're in charge of costumes, graphics, makeups, and all that added a touch of excellence to the movie.
Merely seeing Agesinkole, you will almost pee on yourself; you can't even hear he's around, and wait, you can't meet him unknowingly and return alive; that's how brutal he is. At a point even I concluded that this man is wicked. Like, how can you be this heartless? Even though towards the end I began to understand that there's more to what we see him doing. He has a hurt, a pain, and a betrayal he's carrying around with him.
And I love how that the movie didn't just show how brutal he is, how dangerous and heartless he is, but also makes us wonder why he could have turned out to be like that. Obviously, there's a reason. And when you discover that reason he turned out that way, you will begin to understand why he's like that. Not ad if I agree with all that he did and how brutal he is, but then I began to understand him. Even his brutality wanted me to start questioning if he's this wicked in actual life. Well, I know he's not; he just had to be like that to give the movie all that is needed.
Aside from Femi Adebayo, all the other actors in the movie did greatly well; the likes of Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, and a lot more did their best. I can very well recommend this movie to anyone looking to watch an action-packed movie. And like I said earlier, I love very much how the production team did really well. The costumes, makeups, language, and location were all top-notch. I love how culture was presented in a very great and special way.
This is not to say that the movie has no offs, nah, of course it does. Even still, all of those things didn't stop me from enjoying the movie; it is done in a way that it complements the other, and for that, I give them credit. I also love how the movie shows how that we often see a person who has turned out into a bitter or bad person and refuse to ask why, what happened and how the person eventually turned out that way.
Guess what? There's a part two, and there's a lot more to be unfolded. I'm on it already, and I can't wait to see how it will end so I can give you the review of it and then rate it overall.
Agesinkole, the king of thieves. A must-watch.
