You know, there are we times or seasons you pass through in life that makes you feel small. You just look all around you, and it seems you're the only person still stagnant or backward in life. And this is just the truth; you keep wondering why everyone else seems to be making progress while you're not, and you can't help but start questioning a lot of things.
I've been there before, and it is something I very well understand. I've had a lot of times when things didn't go as planned; I've experienced a lot of disappointments, confusion, betrayals, and all, and in all of those times it wasn't that easy to continue going. Yeah, no matter what, you just couldn't find the courage or strength to keep going.
But then, I've learned that I actually do not need to be/feel strong; I only need to decide to not give up come what may. Even when I don't have any strength left, I will not give up. I'm someone who takes time to decide on a thing, but when I finally do, no one, I mean no one, can talk me out of it. So, that's why when I make the decision to keep going and not stop even when I lack the motivation or encouragement, I will keep going; even when everything doesn't seem like it, I will keep going. And that decision is something that has helped me greatly.
And also, it is not that easy as it sounds. One of the things helping my decision and giving me strength is the various experiences that I've had. Especially the one that has to do with my health, where I had to be on the hospital bed for years. It's an experience I thought I would never get through, but here I am today, a survivor. I may not come out of that sickness a perfect and whole person; I have lots of scars underneath my clothes, but then, I'm glad I came out stronger.
Also, those who believed in me back then, even though I've lost hope in myself, people stood by me and encouraged me, telling me this is not the end. And obviously, it wasn't the end. And that has deepened my faith in God too, knowing fully well that His thoughts for me are not evil but good to give me a glorious and an expected end.
Lastly, I've learned to not compare my journey to that of others. The fact that you're running while I'm walking doesn't mean I'm not making progress; the fact that you're walking while I'm crawling doesn't mean I'm not moving too. I believe there's a time for everything; it is your own time to run when my time comes.... I will fly.
So, any time life comes by to do what it knows to do best and knock me down, I don't run away from it; I allow it, but I make sure to always get back up. Sometimes it's after crying or questioning why it always has to be me, but one thing is sure: I always get back up, because I know and I'm sure that better days lie ahead of me.
So, today, choose to take one more step; don't give in to it. Stand up, try your best, just take one more step, forget everything around you, don't mind that voice telling you to stop, to not try again, shut it off, get up, move; you're closer than you think. You only need to take one more step.
