Talking about the trend that keeps getting my attention, it's kinda much. A lot of things are happening presently in my country at the moment and I'm finding it hard to pinpoint one to write on, three are especially hitting on my mind, and one is kind of religious while the other two is not, but like every trend, I know very well that the one pertaining to religion, religious leaders, beliefs and all of that will soon wrap up, the other one is this trending naija/Lagos life gamez, but then i really do not knw much about it too, and for that reason I will be settling for the day third one.
And that is the buzz around remote work and making money in the comfort of your home. Honestly, I is something that's all over the Internet today. On Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Whatsapp... Everywhere you go or turn to there are usually posts about remote jobs, opportunities as various way to earn online.
And to be honest with you, I'm very much interested in this trend, maybe because I'm now officially an ex Corper and I've been thinking a lot about how to make ends meet, what to do, what to go into and all of that, and remote work as well happens to be something I'm very interested in. You know, that idea of being in the comfort of your room and be able to earn is something I love so much. No need of thinking about transport fare, traffic and all of that.
And after scrolling through, surfing the internet and doing various things I've come to see as know that not every opportunity we see online is actually an opportunity. You know, a lot of it are actually scams, they ask you to register, input your details and that way you're gone, some ask you to click on a link and when you do, your account is gone. Aside from that too, the way they make it look like online is different form what it is actually, some ask you to a pay a fee, to get added to a group on Whatsapp or telegram and they ask you to do some things, making it sound as if immediately you're done, then you will no longer have a need to worry about your finances and that you will be swimming in dollars.
I'm not saying that there aren't real ones, of course there are, but most need you to have skills too, skills like data analysis, graphic design, customer service, video editing, copywriting and a whole lot more. This just it, having these skills, with very good Internet connection and a laptop can aid you and help you to secure a good remote job online where you can in your room here in Nigeria and be working for a company abroad, while getting paid in foreign currency.
Not as if it is that easy like I said earlier, they make it sound easy online but it really isn't. Some will even post screenshots of there paycheck, mails and all, but they won't tell you how many times they applied, how many times they got rejected, and how long it took them to get to where they're at the moment.
No as if I'm no longer interested in it, of course I am, I'm just being careful now, while learning and developing myself, and at the same time verifying, double checking so I won't be a victim of a scam.
