Hello dear Hivers!! 🌷
Yesterday afternoon, after sipping my warm herbal cup of tea and before starting to cook our dinner, I looked outside our front yard. Indeed, it was a mess! Being a cloudy afternoon, with no heavy rains or blazing hot sun, I think it was a good time for us to do some gardening.
Due to the recent rains, our plants have grown rapidly, creeping all over the place, making our yard look more messy.
Let's all work together as I tidy this up, little by little.
First, I need to cut some unnecessary large branches
After cutting these big branches, I noticed some plants tucked beneath the twigs and leaves; our dragon fruit and guava plants. They seem to be growing well. I hope to have fruits from them in no time.
Next, I went on trimming the overgrown carabao grass
, and I swept what I have trimmed using our traditional stick broom. Carabao grasses have grown so very fast; I am so glad I have them because they prevent our yard from having muddy patches after the rains.
Moving on the other side of our yard, I found some other small plants growing vigorously; we didn't plant them, maybe the carabao grasses grew wild, and in the process, some seeds fell.
By then, I felt so glad because it was all coming down. After trimming all the unwanted twigs and leaves, I gathered all that I have trimmed, brought it at the back corner, and left it to dry. We later burned them.
Looking back on the front yard, it was all clean; almost nothing of what it had been before. My lovely kids helped me clean the garden. After we were done, they went ahead and played with the neighbour's kids. It was all such a pleasant job for all of us. 🥰
How nice to see our front yard tidy after all those incessant rains
. Do you also do some yard cleaning?
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day ahead. Buh-bye 💗🌸

Cleaning Up Our Front‑Yard Garden 🌿

Ang sarap talaga ng buhay-probinsya nuh? Yung mga ganyang scenario ang gusto ko, may garden eme. Antagal ko nagstay sa Manila, halos walang makitang garden, puro buildings at pollution. 😀
This looks so peaceful and refreshing! There is truly nothing quite like sipping warm herbal tea and spending some quiet time cleaning up the front yard garden amidst nature. Thanks for sharing this lovely gardening journey with us!
Yes, we do yard cleaning too. It is almost always impossible to not have an overgrown yard as a result of incessant rain fall. I am glad you made out time to do this with your kids. You guys did a great job. Well done.
Awesome work on the daily Ecency leaderboard quest, @mayt!
Tipped with Ecency POINTS.

That is also the problem when it keeps raining because the weeds grow very quickly. Finally, the yard is clean. You get double the benefits from cleaning: the yard is clean and at the same time, you got to exercise. hehe
Same here sis, ang bilis lumago Ng mga damo talaga lalo na Ngayon maulan. Di pa me nakapag bawas ng damo, maya2 umuulan. Haha
What a beautiful garden! You can tell the love and consistency you put into it, that vivid green and those firm leaves don't happen on their own; they're the result of patient, attentive hands. Truly, congratulations.
If I may, here are three key tips that can help you keep it this splendid:
Water deeply, not superficially. One abundant, spaced-out watering (one that soaks the roots well) is better than several light, frequent ones. That way roots grow downward, strong and drought-resistant, instead of staying shallow and weak.
Feed the soil, not just the plant. Organic matter (compost, worm humus, fermented peels) improves the earth long-term and keeps the microbial life your plants need. Chemical fertilizers give quick results, but they impoverish the soil over time.
Observe before acting. Most garden problems are caught in time just by looking at it for a few minutes a day: a yellowing leaf, a bending stem, an insect hovering around. Catching that early is worth more than any product.
Your garden already speaks well of you. Thanks for sharing it, it's a pleasure to see something so well cared for.
