CASTLE

This is the Castle of Óbidos (Castelo de Óbidos) in Portugal.

​The castle structure mainly dates from the 12th to 14th centuries and is an example of medieval Portuguese military architecture, featuring heavy stone walls, crenellated towers, and Gothic entry portals. Today, it is a luxury hotel and visitors stay within the castle walls. When I was there I stayed at Estralagem de Convento, but the castle was beautiful.

CRYSTAL

This is the famous Dom Pedro Aquamarine, the world's largest cut and faceted aquamarine gem that is on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. Mined in the late 1980s in Pedra Azul, Minas Gerais, Brazil, It is named Dom Pedro after Brazil's first two emperors, Dom Pedro I and Dom Pedro II.
The original rough crystal was nearly two feet long and weighed almost 60 pounds before it was cut into an obeisk by German master gem sculptor Bernd Munsteiner from the rough crystal.

CRAB

This is a ghost crab (genus Ocypode), it's large, stalked compound eyes provide a 360-degree field of view. Ghost crabs are among the fastest land crustaceans, able to scurry across the sand at speeds up to 10 miles per hour.

They inhabit sandy beaches along ocean shorelines, digging deep burrows above the high-tide line to stay cool

CROWN

This is the Marie-Louise Diadem, a historic French crown piece crafted in 1810 by Etienne Nitot et Fils (jewelers to the French imperial court). Commissioned by Emperor Napoleon I as a wedding gift for his second wife, Empress Marie-Louise of Austria. It was originally part of a complete parure (matching jewelry set) that included a necklace, earrings, and a comb. : >The diadem was originally set with emeralds and diamonds. In the 1950s, after changing hands through private collectors, Van Cleef & Arpels acquired the piece, removed the original emeralds to sell individually in other jewelry items, and replaced them with the vibrant turquoise cabochons seen today. The diadem contains 1,029 diamonds weighing approximately 387 carats along with 79 turquoise cabochons. It was gifted to the Smithsonian Institution in 1966 by Marjorie Merriweather Post and is now on display at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.

CLIFF

Los Morros de Potosí, are granite islands located offshore near Barra de Potosí, south of Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico.

It is a ​Protected Bird Sanctuary: Surrounding the rocks are deep drop-offs and underwater caves, making it a popular spot for scuba diving and snorkeling.

CACTUS

These cacti are Teddy Bear Chollas (Cylindropuntia bigelovii)growing in the desert of Arizona USA The plants are native to the Sonoran and Mojave Deserts of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. ​They are covered in dense spines with sharp, painful barbs.
