At the County Fair the food is iconic.
There are traditional classics and over-the-top, deep-fried indulgences.like deep fried candy bars (Snickers, Milky Way), Oreos, butter balls, and cookie dough all sitting on a Stick! There are deep fried pork chops served o a stick. Corn Dogs are hot dogs on a stick and dipped in sweet cornmeal batter and fried.
Funnel Cakes & Elephant Ears are crispy, fried dough generously dusted with powdered sugar or layered with fruit toppings.
There are plenty of deep fried foods to choose from.
In Wisconsin, fresh, squeaky cheese curds (deep-fried or raw), are a popular favorite.
There are Classic Confections such as freshly made cream puffs (my favorite), cotton candy, candied apples
Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade is often shaken lemons and crushed ice, and a sugary syrup.
Choosing what food to try is difficult!
There are Smoked turkey legs, pulled pork parfaits (layered with mashed potatoes and barbecue sauce), and brisket sliders.
There are Walking tacos (chili/ground beef scooped straight into a crushed Doritos bag), specialty ribbon fries, and loaded tater tots.
It's a good thing that Fair food is only available for a short time ech summer! I think you need to be there to experience it yourself!
