If there's one thing France has always been known for, it's how peaceful they are. As a matter of fact, there's an old saying in France that translates to: What can you do?
I think this historical context is very important when analyzing today's situation.
Why?
Well, because you might be looking at the current situation and asking yourself some hard questions. What happened to the peaceful French people? The ones that never revolted?
I, too, share that concern.
As a matter of fact, today, while I was adding some mercury drops to my tea, you know, medicinal mercury? Well, I began reminiscing about how things used to be.
You see, back in my day, we used to talk things over. We never had to protest for anything. All we had to do was explain to the leadership how things weren't working out for us, the people, and boom: problems solved.
Yes, I remember one time back in the '90s when hyperinflation was destroying everyone's pocketbooks. All I had to do was write a letter.
Dear Mr. President, I began.
Stop this inflation at once, I continued. It's making life very difficult for us folks, and I would also like you to stop all armed conflicts. The spending seems nonsensical and not in line with our priorities.
After reading my masterfully written prose, he had no choice but to do precisely what I suggested, and within a week, everything became perfect.
Why can't we go back to the way things used to be?
I mean, these French people. At the rate they're going, they might end up beheading someone. And God knows that sort of thing would be the most horrible stain in the almanacs of history for them.
Who wants to see the land of the baguette become the land of revolutions? Not me. Not us Westerners, who are all about values that edify humanity.
I really hope these French people remember who they are and come to their senses.
After all, they're probably Le tired.
