23 October 2026, Prompt Day 3265: just one more kilometre

Source

Greetings, Community,

We all have our daily routines, though sometimes things happen that pull us out of them. May those moments—the ones that take us out of our routines—serve as valuable learning experiences.

It was a day for running and walking. There were many people present, including Melinda, who had joined the race simply so as not to be left out; she had barely trained, and her endurance was quite limited. As the race began, there was a great deal of applause, cheering, and celebration.

The course was lovely—winding through trees, so many trees, and gardens filled with flowers. The pathways, usually open to the public, had been cleared for the event.

Melinda alternated between running and walking. She was exhausted; her friends and family cheered her on, but she felt as though she could barely keep going—her progress felt agonizingly slow. The thought kept running through her mind: only one kilometer left.

Melinda—just one more kilometer. Just one more kilometer.
