Greetings, Community,
Wishing everyone a week filled with blessings worldwide. I hope you are all well, healthy, and happy with your families.
Sometimes, our journey through life leads us to places we never imagined. We begin engaging in activities involving subjects that some might consider simple, while others find them complex. In doing so, we delve into topics that not everyone enjoys or deems necessary to incorporate into their lives—whether due to a lack of time or simply not dedicating even a few minutes a day to them.
For a long time, I have dedicated myself to independently studying the human being—specifically from an internal perspective. Most sciences focus only on the physical aspect: how a person functions, how they act in certain situations, and their behavior—essentially, what is visible to the eye through various studies, statistics, social programs, and so on.
I have always liked to compare the human being to an iceberg: only a small part is visible, while the vast majority remains unseen and unexplored. Few dare to venture there; those who do know it is no simple task. Looking inward can bring confusion, as we encounter issues related to beliefs and legacies inherited from generations long before our parents—what we might call our "ancestors" (a term that has become more widely known thanks to social media).
I mention this because, as we reach this deeper part of the iceberg, we discover so much that we begin to view everything differently. We start to question—without judgment—the reasons behind the events we have personally experienced. We learn to observe situations that do not directly concern us from an external perspective, without letting them emotionally destroy us. This does not mean we won't support those who need it; rather, we offer that support from a different perspective. Arriving at this perspective involved several events in my life—ranging from delving into the works of authors I once considered too academic, to finally grasping the insights they share with those called to this kind of learning. I would sit down to read because they shared parts of their personal lives—how they came to change and accept so much after gaining new understandings; not of social rules, laws, or norms, but of the deeper truths that many people do not dare to share.
As a society, we are told what to think, feel, study, eat, wear, and how to live; society itself sweeps us along in the rush of technology. Yet, that same technology creates distance between people who fail to grasp that social media is one thing, while lived experience is quite another.
In this journey of learning, I have had the opportunity to study—from my own perspective and without judgment—the figure of Jesus of Nazareth. I mean the real figure, not the one taught (or still taught) within the Catholic religion; every religion has its dogmas and its own specific reasons for holding Sunday gatherings. Each individual feels and believes differently, eventually learning to discern between what happens inside a church and the actual value offered by the direct teachings of the masters we study. Meanwhile, as human beings, we are conditioned by our upbringing, family, and other influences to believe that if we do not follow a particular religion, we are destined for a different fate.
After studying Jesus of Nazareth, I was led to learn about the Prophet Muhammad.
