Just a few months back, I'd have given a completely and quite an ignorant response to this question but I'm grateful that I have learned what I know today and understand to a good extent what is expected of my life here on earth. I've seen a lot of books trying to teach people the purpose of life, it's beautiful but they are lacking.
Life is full of mystery really, we wake up everyday, live through the day going about what we plan for and manage with what we didn't plan for it to happen, we find time to be happy, sad and even cry. We wake up to work, earn money and go back to bed planning to do the same things the next day, some would even call it their purpose.
But then, life is deeper than what it seems. One of the statements of life we will all agree with is that, we learn everyday and the day we stop learning is the day we die. Taking note of that statement have taught me to life more purposely, making sure to learn something as I go if not every single day. One purpose of life is to learn.
You might ask, why learn when we will all die anyways? Well, since we don't have forever yet is why we should not stop learning. We must continue to learn until we find the truths of life, what happens after death and the one true promise for those who die in Christ. I believe living and dying for Christ is a bigger purposeful.
Waking up to earn money to pay our bills is great. I mean, even the word of God says we should work and the work of our hands will be blessed. Doing the will of God means waking up every day to do something with what God has gifted you with, whatever it may because He has never and would never give you more than you can handle.
A purposeful life is the one in Christ, learning His ways and living by them. And to live in Christ also means to wake up to work, work with your hands or your ability, serve people and be in His presence while at all of that. Personally, I think giving life meaning only when one is wealthy makes no much sense considering the end of it.
We've had people who live in uncountable wealth, but still end up saying life and everything in it is vanity. That says a lot about what will be after death for us, if we choose to only live for earning money to sort our bills. Make money, it's good and very much needed but do not place it on your life as what would give your life the meaning.
Life is beautiful but only if we live it intentionally and conscious of what will be the end of the life we live, it's not easy but it's something worth trying to live for and have more meaning to life.
