I have been able to share my thoughts on the first parts of this movie and this is the sequel to the story, the story continues after the lovely couple graduate college and have to face making a decision that says a lot about choosing oneself without losing love. Its a sequel you wouldn't think you need until you see that you actually do.
"To All The Boys: Always and Forever" is the close to the Lara Jean's love story and this time, it leans more into growing up as an individual than just romance which felt realistic. It was released in 2021 starring same characters, with Lana Condor as Lara Jean and Noah Centineo as Peter, both as the main characters of the story.
The story continues as Lara Jean in her final year of high school began to face big life decisions, she have seem to plan her whole life revolving around her love, Peter. What started as a simple plan, going to Stanford with Peter, changes when things didn't go as expected. The story shifts into a journey of self-discovery as Lara Jean has to choose between holding unto Peter or stepping into her new found love, that is studying in NYU.
One thing I've noticed that is consistent in all the parts of this story is how Lana Condor (Lara Jean) carries herself, she keeps getting mature but still keeps the soft and dreamy personality that I've slowly come to enjoy watching in the story. And Noah Centineo as Peter Kavinsky continues to be the charming and supportive boyfriend. Although in this part, he got too emotional and expected too much from Lara, giving up admission into her desired university.
Well, I think it made their relationship feel more real, especially in how they handle distance, change, and uncertainty. It's a reminder that couples who know what could test them real hard can find a way to compromise and make it work if they must go ahead. Lara and Peter showed that in their story, with a lovely ending.
Some of the most memorable parts of the movie are the Korea trip, the New York trip, the rooftop party scenes and the heart felt goodbye moments between Lara and Peter. Over all, I think the movie is less about romance and more about making a decision that isn't influenced only by who one loves. I also liked that Peter realized how selfish he was and gave her support at last.
