Life in Bloom (photography🍀)

‎They say the best shots are taken when you least expect it. I'm not a professional photographer, but I love taking photos of things around me. Sometimes they come out perfect, and sometimes they don't, which is fine. But the idea is to capture the moment and relive it whenever I see the image again. ‎ ‎ I took these pictures at the farm, and they brought back so many memories from when I was little. I would always pluck fruits and flowers, pick things off the ground on our way to the farm, and this would make my mum so angry because, according to her, I always end up forgetting why I came to the farm 😂.

Pictures are memories. Walk with me.

1002190568.jpg For this picture, I did a little bit of editing to make it pop. I learnt picture editing some time ago, and I'm glad I could remember the basics and still put them to work☺️. This is definitely one of my favorite shots; it looks so professional

When I was younger and used to go to the farm with my mom, I and my siblings would pluck this fruit and eat it to and from the farm. It has a light and sweet taste to it. I had to Google it and saw that some people call it bird's fruit, and it's mostly found in my part of the country. This particular fruit is everywhere on the farm, but you would never come across it in town, not even by chance. It only grows in the thick bush, and I wonder why. You might be wondering if it comes from a tree; the answer is NO. It grows like sunflowers but not as big as a sunflower. You can mistake it for tall grass.

Never in my 24years of living have I come across a plantain growing like this. To say the least, I was shocked and was curious about the science and magic behind this; well, nothing is impossible, as someone I know would always say, "Where there's a will, there's a way" 😉

There's something about butterflies that gives me butterflies in my tummy whenever I see one🥰. I think this guy was hurt and couldn't fly again. I felt so sad that I couldn't help.

I don't know anything about this plant, but I call it gum because it produces a white, milky substance that is very, very sticky. Some people say the substance it produces itches the skin when it comes in contact with it, but I've never experienced that before. I use it to stick leaves together 😂

1002190579.jpg

Is it just me, or does this plant look like a vulva? The funny thing is that it has a liquid inside that, when you press it hard, it releases it😂. It's fascinating and just beautiful and also funny. And no, it doesn't grow from a tree. I put it up there; it grows like grass. This also reminds me of a particular purple flower that I used to pluck and lick when I was younger. That flower was so sweet and had a lot of sugar, so sad that I can't find it around me anymore. It used to be everywhere. It's sad how things are changing so quickly, how the things we used to have around us are nowhere to be found again.

So guys, that's it for today. I hope to take more photos as I go out and just document the beautiful things my eyes can see and share them here with you.

Thanks for stopping by❤️🤗 ‎

The first flower image looks so beautiful. I often find wildflowers like that in the forest, but I forgot to take a picture.

Did you upgrade that your iPhone that you were using back then? Because wow. The first shot looks like it was legit taken with a DSLR. The butterfly shot is goated too, because it takes some efforts to get close enough to get a picture.

The first picture wins for me, just too good.

Wow, that plantain growing like that and in there is just unique and new to me. Its cool even. I am curious with that pink fruit. Why do I feel like it is kinda sour haha, but guess not no? And these are definitely a good sets of photographs. My fave are the butterfly and the flower at the last. That flower is just hmmmm haha, pretty 😆✨🌟🥒

The wee photo of the fruits ... is according to Google Lens ..

Peanut Butter Fruit (Bunchosia species, such as Bunchosia glandulifera or Bunchosia argentea), which turns from green to a deep orange-red or yellow upon ripening and features a dense, sweet pulp.

Brilliant pictures Meya, and I did not know that you were a budding photographer. You should get out and do some photo essays or wednesday walk posts!
