Soy Juanita, la maja de Reverón.
Me voy al Castillete. Allá vivo en un mundo donde puedo alucinar o, mejor dicho, soñar. Allá soy la maja, la musa y la reina de un elocuente caballero. Él es el hacedor de este universo dominado por su Dios Toro y por los títeres, nuestros súbditos. Ven y así me entenderás: te invito a tomar un rico papelón y a conocer al maestro de las fantasías en tela, papel, óleo y madera.
Mi juicio se pierde ante su mirada y entro a un universo increíble, donde la vida y lo cotidiano se confunden con lo trascendente. Verás cómo sus creaciones y todo a nuestro alrededor cobran vida; aquí somos amigos de santos, de fantasmas y hasta de un mono llamado Pancho. Pancho nos acompaña a cada rincón de la casa y, a veces, creo que él está más cuerdo que mi amado, el «Loco de Macuto», como suelen llamarlo.

I am heading to the Castillete. There, I live in a world where I can hallucinate or, rather, dream. There, I am the maja, the muse, and the queen of an eloquent gentleman. He is the maker of this universe dominated by his Bull God and by the puppets, our subjects. Come, and then you will understand me: I invite you to have a delicious papelón and to meet the master of fantasies in fabric, paper, oil, and wood.
I lose my mind before his gaze and enter an incredible universe, where life and the everyday blur with the transcendent. You will see how his creations and everything around us come to life; here, we are friends with saints, ghosts, and even a monkey named Pancho. Pancho accompanies us to every corner of the house, and sometimes, I think he is simulation saner than my beloved, the "Loco de Macuto," as they usually call him.
