Dhurandhar is the kind of movie that didn’t rush to reveal all its cards. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film followed a deeply undercover Indian operative who entered the dangerous criminal world of Karachi’s Lyari, where gang rivalries, political corruption and terrorism made every step of his mission more dangerous.
What started as a mission quickly became a complicated game of survival, where one wrong decision could expose everything.
Ranveer Singh (Hamza Ali Mazari), a mysterious and fearless character who slowly found his way into the world of Karachi's most dangerous criminals. I particularly enjoyed how his character was introduced. He wasn't someone who revealed everything about himself at once. Instead, the movie allowed his story to unfold gradually, making me constantly wonder what he was really planning.
One of the most interesting parts of the movie was his relationship with Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). He brought a completely different energy to the film. His character was calm, intelligent and frightening in a way that didn't always require shouting or violence. Whenever he appeared, there was this feeling that something could go wrong at any moment.
Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal also added plenty of weight to the story. Their performances helped make the movie feel bigger and more serious, especially during the tense political and military moments.
What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The movie didn't make the criminal world look glamorous. It showed it as a dangerous place filled with betrayal, power struggles, violence and people who could switch sides whenever it benefited them.
The action sequences were another major highlight. They were brutal and intense, but they also fitted the kind of story the movie was trying to tell. There were moments when I genuinely had no idea what was going to happen next.
That said, Dhurandhar was definitely a long movie. Its runtime could have been a problem because some scenes felt stretched longer than necessary. But for me, the performances and the story were strong enough to keep me interested.
The biggest attraction was Ranveer Singh's performance. He carried a character who had to constantly hide his real intentions, and that made his journey fascinating to watch. By the time the truth surrounding his character became clearer, the story had already taken several unexpected turns.
And just when I thought the story was reaching its conclusion, the ending opened another door and left the possibility of more to come.
Dhurandhar was not a perfect movie, but it was the kind of action thriller that kept me invested. It had strong performances, plenty of suspense, intense action and a storyline that didn't give away everything too easily.
If you enjoy spy thrillers, undercover missions, crime, political drama and hard-hitting action, this was definitely worth watching.
