[Movie] Miracle In Cell No.7 (2019) Review

For some reasons I decided to rewatchMiracle In Cell again

The movie told the story of a father named Memo (Aras Bulut İynemli) who had an intellectual disability and lived with his young daughter, Ova (Nisa Sofiya Aksongur). Despite his condition, Memo loved his daughter deeply. They shared a special bond, and it was easy to see that Ova meant everything to him.

Their peaceful life took a terrible turn when Memo was wrongly accused of killing a little girl. Unfortunately, the girl happened to be the daughter of a high-ranking military officer.

Before he could properly explain what happened, Memo was arrested and eventually sent to prison.
What made the situation even more painful was that Memo could not defend himself properly. He knew he had done nothing wrong, but nobody seemed interested in listening to him. He was treated like a criminal simply because of an accusation.

Life in prison was not easy for him, especially because he was constantly thinking about his daughter. He missed her and wanted nothing more than to see her again.
Something I particularly enjoyed was the relationship that developed between Memo and the other prisoners. At first, they did not understand him and some even treated him badly. However, as they got to know him better, they began to see the kind of person he was. They eventually became protective of him and even tried to help him reunite with Ova.

I also liked how Ova refused to give up on her father. Despite her young age, she believed in him and wanted everyone to know that he was innocent. Her determination was something I found touching.

One thing this movie made me think about was how easily people can judge someone without taking time to understand them. Memo's condition made it difficult for him to defend himself, and the people who should have listened to him were too quick to believe the accusation.

I must also commend the actors for their performances. Aras Bulut İynemli, who played Memo, did a wonderful job portraying a father with an intellectual disability. His performance made the character believable. Nisa Sofiya Aksongur, who played Ova, also did a great job. Their father-and-daughter relationship was one of the best parts of the movie.

The movie had several emotional moments, and I found myself feeling sorry for Memo and Ova. It was painful watching a father who only wanted to be with his daughter suffer for something he did not do.

My Verdict

I enjoyed watching the movie . It had a touching storyline, good acting and a beautiful message about love between a parent and a child. Although some parts were painful to watch, I think that was what made the story memorable. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys emotional family dramas.

Rating: 90/100

Father daughter bond is always a precious thing in either condition/situation, mother son bonding is also considered very strong but, I don't think it as strong as the father-daughter. This movie must be a marvelous watch especially considering the state of the father.
