I've been quiet for a while, but trust me - it was for a very good reason and I mean it: β¨ vacation β¨
so of course I meant "ride through Poland", but was inspired by this song π
We packed the family into a couple of Jeeps and set off on an off-road adventure along Poland's eastern border. Two whole weeks out in the wild, camping under the stars ποΈ
Honestly, the views out here were absolutely breathtaking! But see for yourself:
Anyway, that's enough of the personal stuff - time to get down to business π€
Contrary to what it might look like - I didn't just spend the rest of my "offline time" chilling. I was actually working on some really exciting stuff π
Can't spill all the details just yet, but you will find out soon enough at Hive Fest! π» Yeah, you read it right - we're heading out as the @thebeedevs crew (proudly represented at the side by @itsola + @small.minion + @me) to Kuala Lumpur to meet you face-to-face! π

There is actually a lot going right now, so I'll try to summarize.
Step into the future, powered by innovation, imagination... and questionable life choices π« π€
ππΌ More optimizations
If speeding up TypeScript wax by more than 8 times wasn't enough, Python wax just got an update, baby! Transaction processing is now 10x quicker!!! π€π»
Don't worry tho - we're doing our best not to drop below the 0-second threshold π (time travel rollout planned Q1 2026 π )

π First actual Hive high-level documentation of a library on Hive
We (And by "we" I mean @me + @fwaszkiewicz + @small.minion) managed to create high-level documentation for Wax and WorkerBee - written in an accessible way, explaining all of the library features in details. I highly recommend you take a look - I promise, you won't regret it!
- Wax high-level documentation - π JS/TS + π Python
- WorkerBee high-level documentation - π JS/TS only (for now)
π Auth Bridge updates
MUGA!@! - "Make UIs Great Again":
Read this article about Hive Wallet Snap officially approved by the MetaMask π¦ team and test it using Hive Bridge - Check it out for yourself!
π New authorization option
Upon working on the WorkerBee documentation snippets I needed an easy way to authorize Hive users to verify who I am actually dealing with. So, I lowkey added a new feature to the Bridge, called dApp Authorize:
You can test it right now as a developer - add this basic user identity confirmation feature to your app!
π More Hive components: Point of Sell
Iβm still working to make this fully standalone (no central server - everything based on info from the blockchain!), but at least @thedistriator integration is in place π (shoutout to @starkerz and their dev team!)
π Automatic API definitions
I wrote a small script (wax-spec-generator) to automatically generate API definitions for TypeScript wax from OpenAPI Swagger definitions (JSON-RPC/Rest). This gives full IntelliSense support and shows API documentation right in your IDE! It's all live, waiting for you to try:
- @hiveio/wax-api-jsonrpc
- @hiveio/wax-api-hafbe
- @hiveio/wax-api-balance-tracker
- @hiveio/wax-api-hafah
- @hiveio/wax-api-reputation-tracker
π§Ύ How others doin' it?
Just so you know - I've started researching smart contracts, analyzing other blockchains and their tech, and learning Rust π¦ and Solidity πΎ. Might drop something on that soon...
Thebeedev, @mtyszczak out *drops mic*

Yeah... no AI images this time
