A blend of pot decoration, warli art and tradition ## my son little creation

Hello friends !

After 10 days festival celebration I am here again . Nine days we celebrate Navaratri and 10th day we celebrate Dussehra. We did many activities during these days , today I wanna share one of my favourite thing which I did with my son .

My son participate in his school garba activity for that he have to prepare (decorate )one Garbi ( clay pot ). It’s a way to introduce kids about festival and tradition through creativity .

School provide the pot . First we paint white base and left it dry for few hours .

We use some paint, brushes, acrylic pen, stone and few decorative items to prepare this pot . We use warli art to make this pot .

Here the base is ready .

Now it’s time to select the Design . I thought to make it as the theme of the festival and decide to use some art show kids doing garba . I guide my son , somewhere I helped him . First he paint yellow on the top , than blue .

At the bottom we paint red .

Now in the center we start to make some art . I draw he start to paint . This time we use acrylic pen to make the design .

First we draw 3 kids doing garba (a dance form) .

We also made some design on the bottom and top. Made leaves on both sides .

Another side 1 is playing drum and rest are playing garba.

At last we made dandiya (stick) . We use black pen to make all designs .

Now we color in all art and decorate it with stones . We feel that yellow base looks not good so we paint green on yellow and stick some stones there .

Our final pot is ready and here you can see .

At the end i feel so happy to saw his work . We use warli art . This is the first time when I introduced warli art to my son . He really enjoyed it and gave his best to make this pot . It was a little creation but our heart was full of happiness .

It was a great start of our Navratri , when we paint pot . Next day he went school with the pot and played lots of garba.

I’ll share more details about this celebration in my upcoming blog .

I hope you like this pot decoration . This is easy to make where we use only few things and try warli art first time .

Thank you so much everyone for your valuable time , support and love 🤍🌸

It is inspiring to see how you have turned this celebration into an opportunity for active learning. Beyond the beauty of Warli art or the colours in the clay, what you have truly built is a bridge between generations; by guiding your son through this process, you are not only teaching him a tradition, you are instilling in him the value of dedication and respect for our heritage.

Using warli art for the pot is such a cool idea. It must have been fun painting those little figures dancing together. 🪷
