A day long spiritual journey

This week is going to be all about short spiritual journeys. On Sunday I made a 2 days trip visiting 8 Fire-Temples, which are spread out in 4 different cities. It's a yearly ritual for me and I do not like to miss it. I have been doing it since past 18 years and never missed it except for the covid year. There are 4 temples in one city, which I do it on day one and the other 4 are all in other different cities which I do together on day 2. The day 2 journey starts at 5 a.m. in the morning and completes by 9 p.m.

Too much travelling, but at the same time extreme satisfaction also. It is exhausting but still it happens very smoothly year on year and I get ample time at each temple to do my prayers. It's a total of 700 kms of travel, which half of it I do by train as that saves me lot of time, and the other half by car, which I pre-book. With this arrangement I can easily complete all the 4 in a single day. It's a solo travel, so the timing is very comfortably managed by me.

This is the first Fire Temple in the small town of Udwada that I visited, it is also one of the main. There are times in the year, when I only visit here and stay back for 2 days. The environment of this town is very peaceful. There is no traffic or main roads here. The place is by the beach side which gets some bonus points for a short stay. IMG-20261027-WA0015.jpg

In our religion, people of other faith are not allowed in to the Temple and there is always a sign board outside. IMG-20261027-WA0014.jpg

The second one, this one is in the town of Navsari, which is around 80 kms from the first one. It is also one of my favorites as it has a beautiful outdoor garden, and a very well maintained one also. IMG-20261027-WA0017.jpg

The third one, which is in Surat city, this place is around 40 kms drive. This city is close to my heart as I have completed my education here and spent 10 years of my childhood in this city. Whenever I visit here, it brings back some of my fond childhood memories. One of them is during all special occasions, I would visit with my dad to this Fire temple, whenever I am in here, I feel my father's presence. IMG-20261027-WA0018.jpg

This fourth one is also in Surat city and is at a distance of just 5 minutes from the earlier one. In this place too, I have some fond memories with my family and friends. IMG-20261027-WA0019.jpg

Life is all about these short journeys and the special moments that happen during these journeys. By the end of it, there is deep gratitude for all of this to happen and moreover to get the opportunity to do it year on year.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

  • As a Muslim, I can't really comment on the religious aspect, but keeping up a tradition like this for 18 whole years is truly impressive!

The way these trips connect you to precious childhood memories and the sense of your father’s presence is truly touching.
