I am not a pet friendly person but at the same time I am not against them. I feel they are a joy to be around. Sometimes I wish to have a dog but then I know that I cannot commit myself fully to my pet. I am an outdoor person and leaving my pet alone time and again is not a good idea. I would not want to get a pet just for my cconvenience and eentertainment. I have to be responsible for them, which I know I will not be able to. Also, one more thing I do not like about pets is, licking, it is their way of showing love and affection but I somehow cannot take that. My friend's pets also I play with them but the condition is no licking.

Having a pet is like a blessing. Most of my friends have a pet dog and I see their joy. Their love and affection has no comparison to what we humans display. It's selfless and full of humility. My neighbor has 3 dogs and as soon as she returns from work and steps into the house, they come running and fall all over her. No human shows this kind of love. They are waiting for her through the day. Sometimes I see them at the window waiting for her. When she is not around, they are so quiet but as soon as she arrive they become playful and keep running around her. She takes them for walks twice a day before leaving for work and in the night again. It's all with love and affection.

She is so committed to them, that she barely takes any vacations away from home. All the time she spends with them, and this is the level of commitment I believe all pets need. I have also known people who have had pets for their own entertainment. They tend to them at their convenience and then rest of the time leave them to the caretakers.

if one is not committed enough to taking care of them and has genuine love for them, they should not bring pet home just for their amusement. Then be it a dog or any kind of pet. They need your attention more then you give to other people in your home.

That’s also something I don’t really like, when dogs lick people.

There was one time when my sister-in-law’s sister visited their house. She carried her sister’s dog and kept laughing because the dog wouldn’t stop licking her. Unfortunately, the dog accidentally licked her on the lips. Even though they bathe the dog regularly, I still find it a bit unhygienic because dogs lick all kinds of things and different parts of their bodies.

But one thing I really love about dogs is how they can instantly lift your mood. When you’re feeling down and they come over and give you little kisses on your feet, somehow your bad mood disappears.

I had pets when my son was growing up and when I was a kid we always had animals. Now I don't have any pets, it makes life so much simpler. But I do miss having dogs around, they really are such loving creatures!

You're absolutely right—if you're not ready to take care of a pet, it's better not to have one because it will suffer a lot. It's a commitment, as you say; you shouldn't get one just for entertainment because they aren't toys—they're living beings that deserve attention. Bye
