Visit to the Narayani Dham Temple - Part 1

This Temple is in a small town Lonavala, the place where I have built my holiday home. Before building this house also I used to frequently visit this town, it's a hill station just 2 hours away from city, so always a hot spot for Mumbai city people. Gives a good break from the chaotic city life, and now that I have home here all the more its frequent visit. Even after visiting so often I was not aware that a Temple of this scale existed here.

My friend had visited me and she told me one morning to visit together. I was not aware of it, so being curious about it I tagged along with her. In my mind I had a very different picture, like a small Temple, but then on reaching there to my surprise it is something magnificent.

The environment of this place is very peaceful, it truly feels divine being here. The main thing I experienced here is silence, the kind where you can hear your own breath. The tenple is huge and both the interiors and the exteriors are captivating.

This Temple, Narayani Dham is dedicated to Maa Narayani, a form of Goddess Durga. The idol is beautiful, calm eyes, a gentle smile, nothing fierce. Just… motherly feeling. I’m not someone who does long rituals, at a temple I just like to fold my hands and express my gratitude.

Sharing some pictures of the interiors of the Temple today.

The temple is beautiful, to which intricate architectural patterns add more beauty.
