A changing world on cine film

This picture definitely didn't turn out as I had expected. Slightly underexposed on the film stock but still came out with some nice tones. It didn't seem as tight as it was in person even though I shot it through the 28mm lens. Though I think it has a unique charm to it anyway. I wouldn't call it a bad image, just not exactly as I'd have liked. But this was taken inside an incredibly old home. It was well over one hundred years old at this point but still had its pre Soviet aesthetic. Where it once belonged to a very rich family. Old candlesticks which would've lit the entrance before widespread electricity in the area. A beautiful old marble styled staircase with its original wood still present.

Moving on this was one of the final photographs I took from the old apartment. A nice sunset that didn't quite turn out as vibrant as I'd have liked. But whatever, it was more for the memory of having lived there even if I was excited to leave it and move into a much nicer place! The mountain view in the distance was always fun. And the old Soviet factory spaces that remained on the space were often interesting to look at and think of how things once would've been. The new apartment buildings were placed over the original factory space. Built as far back as the 1950s. Smoke stacks still present. Nuclear bunkers around. Original Soviet era posters. All getting torn down for more buildings. It was sad to see, and so moving felt healthy. vision2 250d13 interior2 3.5.jpg

Elsewhere, back in Tbilisi were older staircases. I thought this one would turn out a bit differently but I hadn't used this film stock in a while. Low aperture, low shutter speed. All just figuring out settings and having fun with film for the fun of film. Nothing too serious. Again more for the memories of the place. Who knows whether these places will be around in another ten years. Maybe they'll finally fall to the test of time. Many of these buildings had rough exteriors. Walls with huge cracks. Sloped windows and entrances, and even stairs. Probably not the safest places to enter or be near, and definitely not for long-term living! vision2 250d13 interior3 3.5.jpg

And lastly another interior, this one an old building like the previous ones but turned into a cosy cafe. Still with its original interior design, but slightly altered to suit modern cafe standards. It was a nice place, with a stray dog that would lay indoors by the entrance, and a cat that would roam. It's fun writing about these spaces, the memories, the little details. Hopefully I'll have another roll of film soon to write about. This one, again, the Kodak Vision2 250D cine film!
