Visiting Cachamaure beach
En estos últimos días decidimos ir a la playa y elegimos la playa Cachamaure, que está a unos 30 minutos de Cumaná, la ciudad donde vivo. Mientras conducíamos, admiramos el increíble y hermoso paisaje de la zona. Si hay algo que caracteriza al estado de Sucre, son sus numerosas playas y balnearios, un deleite para sus residentes y turistas, quienes quedan cautivados no solo por el azul del mar y las arenas blancas y doradas de sus playas, sino también por la cálida temperatura del agua, que permite nadar las 24 horas del día, los 12 meses del año.
The entire coast of Sucre state is bordered by a blue sea that ranges from sky blue to turquoise, and sometimes it can be so still and bright that it resembles a mirror, as it did that day. From the road, you can admire the entire seascape, some inns, residential areas, and a consistently clear sky that sometimes blends seamlessly with the sea.
Toda la costa del estado Sucre está bañada por un mar azul que varía del azul celeste al turquesa, y a veces es tan tranquilo y brillante que parece un espejo, como sucedió ese día. Desde la carretera, se puede admirar todo el paisaje marino, algunas posadas, zonas residenciales y un cielo siempre despejado que a veces se funde a la perfección con el mar.
When we arrived at the baths Cachamaure we had to pay $1 per person. Children enter free, as do pets, which must be kept on a leash. Since we had driven our own car, we parked under a tall coconut tree and unloaded everything we had brought: towels, food, and a cooler with drinks.
Al llegar al balneario Cachamaure, tuvimos que pagar 1 dólar por persona. Los niños entran gratis, igual que las mascotas, las cuales deben entrar con correa. Como habíamos ido en nuestro propio coche, estacionamos bajo una palmera alta y descargamos todo lo que habíamos llevado: toallas, comida y una nevera portátil con bebidas.
Upon entering the baths facilities, there's a sign with some rules that you should read to avoid unpleasant surprises. There's also a kind of restaurant, but it was closed. I don't know if it was only closed that day or if it's always closed.
Among the things you should not do in this place are: using threatening language, pushing, disorderly conduct, littering, carrying weapons, selling food without authorization, among many other things.
Al entrar en las instalaciones del balneario, hay un cartel con algunas normas que conviene leer para evitar sorpresas desagradables. También hay una especie de restaurante, pero estaba cerrado. Desconozco si solo estaba cerrado ese día o si normalmente está cerrado.
Entre las cosas que no debes hacer en este lugar están: usar lenguaje amenazante, empujar, tener una conducta desordenada, tirar basura, portar armas, vender comida sin autorización, entre muchas otras cosas.
This baths has two areas: the beach and the hot springs pool. The beach has a large pier where boats dock, which also serves as a walkway and a spot for taking photos. The water is warm, calm, shallow, and crystal clear. The hot springs pool is enclosed by a metal fence, and its waters are rich in minerals with medicinal properties, perfect for the body, mind, and soul.
Este balneario cuenta con dos zonas: la playa y la piscina de aguas termales. La playa tiene un gran muelle donde atracan los barcos, que también sirve como caminería y lugar para tomar fotos. El agua es cálida, tranquila, poco profunda y cristalina. La piscina de aguas termales está rodeada por una valla metálica y sus aguas son ricas en minerales con propiedades medicinales, perfectas para el cuerpo, la mente y el espíritu.
Cachamaure is located near San Antonio del Golfo and is a natural area full of coconut palms, thatched huts, lots of grass, and a beach—perfect for visitors to enjoy. And although there weren't many visitors that day, I know that during peak seasons like Easter or Carnival, there are even tents, which are allowed if you pay $10.
Cachamaure se encuentra cerca de San Antonio del Golfo y es un paraje natural repleto de palmeras, bohíos, mucha grama y una playa, ideal para disfrutar. Y aunque no había muchos visitantes ese día, sé que, durante las temporadas altas, como Semana Santa o Carnaval, incluso se permiten tiendas de campaña por 10 dólares.
We spent the afternoon on the beach, chatting, enjoying delicious food and drinks, and sunbathing. Then, an hour before leaving, we went into the hot springs pool, and it was truly an incredible experience. Being in the warm water for half an hour made us relax and feel like life was lighter.

Una hora antes de irnos, nos metimos en la piscina de aguas termales, y fue una experiencia realmente increíble. I have to confess it had been a long time since I'd been to Cachamaure, and although it wasn't at its best for a while, I understand there's a revival underway and a real desire to expand this resort into a landmark destination in eastern Venezuela. So if you're ever in this part of the world, don't hesitate to visit Cachamaure, relax on its beach, and especially take a dip in the thermal pool. You'll leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and smiling.
Confieso que hacía mucho tiempo que no visitaba Cachamaure, y aunque por un tiempo no estaba en su mejor momento, entiendo que se está revitalizando y que existe un gran interés en convertir este balneario en un destino emblemático del oriente venezolano. Así que, si alguna vez andan por esta zona, no duden en visitar Cachamaure, relajarse en su playa y, sobre todo, darse un chapuzón en la piscina termal. Saldrán renovados, relajados y con una sonrisa.
